Also great - and not something you can probably track down online now - the various outtakes from the Amorica/Tall sessions. There is an instrumental on one of them I use to listen to quite often.

Nonfiction gets my vote, it is a very great night time chill out song to listen to. This whole album is fantastic though, one of my favorites from them

I don't know my telephone number
But you kiss good and I'd like to
    See you tomorrow
    And I don't beg, I pay, I don't barter
And if we had a child I'd like a son,
    Not a daughter
'Cause she'd be just like you
You know that would not do...

    Perfection.

I recall seeing them do that song on Saturday Night Live long before it was released.

Since you're a fan of the song, I'll ask - do you like the way they've done it live? I never cared much for the original. It was okay, but not among my favorites at all. But I really grew to dislike the way it was stretched out to sometimes 15 minutes in their live set. If they just stuck to performing it acoustic with the album arrangement, I probably would have been fine with it. Its the long electric "Nonfiction Jam" I really dislike.

And I remember the first time I heard the song on Saturday Night Live, which was well before Amorica even came out. That was a weird, seemingly a big drugged out performance.

Yeah, I personally am more of a fan of the album version - not that I mind that live extended jam but it loses that scenic, ambient vibey thing the studio version has got going on. Although I really love the acoustic version that is on Croweology, that was great

I love the entire album but “Cursed Diamond” has a magnificent faded glory to it. I find it breathtaking.

Great album packed with great songs. But "Wiser Time" is magic.

I think you’re right. I don’t have any knowledge of those two cuts appearing anywhere prior to Sho’ Nuff. Both “Tied Up and Swallowed” (original version; a different take appears on The Lost Crowes) and “Chevrolet” appeared as region-specific Amorica bonus tracks in 1994, but not those other two.

My second favorite album from my all-time favorite band. If pressed, I must go with "Descending," which actually sounded quite good in the As the Crow Flies New Year's Eve set--one of the few tunes in which Marc and Rich's absence wasn't glaring.

Good album but Wiser Time is the only Black Crowes song I like a lot.

Me too - and I taped it. I use to videotape a lot of music stuff back then.
