It's more like therapy, work has been a little stressful lately and I can mentally work out some of that pent up frustration, crush smash grrrr.....awww that's better, that type of deal. I just finished Death "Individual Thought Patterns" haven't listened to that one in a while, some killer playing in that lineup.
That was my first ever DM Cd. 5/5 M's in M.E.A.T. Magazine and The Philosopher played lots on the Power Hour. Same rhythm section as the new Testament!
Amen, brother! Metal has been my therapy, my friend, my motivation, and a driving force in my life....couldn't imagine what kind of person I'd be without it!!! Individual is one of my favorite Death albums and Andy LaRocque is one of my absolute favorite guitarists! If anyone know the story of how he came to play on the album, please feel free to share cause I'd love to know. If anyone also knows when this fantastic album will be reissued on vinyl like the rest of the Death collection (save Human...waiting for that, too), please chime in!
Gahhh! You both beat me to it! I just finished one playthrough and very solid. I did have to play the final track "No Hope" like 5 times. What a gem! No Hope (Deluxe Bonus Track), by Obituary Yes the Ten Thousand video is a laugh. Especially when I saw the human centipede!
Just got this stunning local release from a local band that supported Mayhem in Buenos Aires on Oct 2016 : Black Vul Destruktor- The Inner Vul
I saw when you posted that in the best new album thread but you did so with only the pic and no text. It took me some time through trial and error to figure out what those letters were. V...U? Eventually I decoded what the band's name and album were.
Some of us care and I should have just asked but I got caught up working on the puzzle until I cracked the code.
By the time I reached the end of Malignance: Architects Of Oblivion I raided my wallet to purchase it. That album is nuts in a good way with the male vocalist doing some small amount of King Diamond meets Attila Csihar. A metal pop opera. The negative spiral of Self Indulgence, by Malignance I liked it quite a lot. Rather lonesome over there.
I'm reading this thread thinking how it needs a real kick in the ass with something worth my time, deliberating what to post, and here it is. Kudos, sir. Kudos to the ninth circle and beyond.
You had me play it again start to finish. As much as I like the Obituary album and love that animated video (the human centipede spot cracks me up) I like the Immolation album more. It pushes some big buttons for me. The very serious tone, and as much as I like horror movie type themes I have to go with serious social commentary like what Immolation are doing. They have a moral and musical maturity that scratches my itch. They're not just heavy but have gravity on their side. Nothing fancy or groundbreaking but I guess my fav album of the year so far.
Given how big Behemoth are I hope it's not some four year wait for the next album. I really liked their last. My fav guitar solo of that year at 2:47. I can't say how many times I watched that.
