I think Tom is back to support the storyline and the mystery surrounding Lizzie's past. Only show I enjoy +/- equally is "Person Of Interest"
I agree that the last two episodes have been a more captiviating. Interesting twists have been few and far between after the first few.
One of the (very) few to look forward to watching. Spader definitely continues to keep it interesting.
So now we have Lizzie's mother's backstory for next year. I don't know if I'll be back for it-this story has so many tentacles it's just too much. There was zero surprise in the reveal at the end. It would have been much more interesting if it had been Aram-he seems ripe for manipulation.
I know. If they address the mommie issue with three eps to go, with everything else going on, they can't possibly give it as much time as they should, given how obsessed they were dealing with her father all year (which they still haven't resolved).
Thread has been very quiet-Blacklist fatigue? So Liz is now firmly in the cabal's crosshairs. This was actually one of the best episodes of the season (very twisty), and sets up a whole new slew of plots. The only thing that really takes me out of enjoying this show fully is the possible reviving of the romantic relationship between Liz and Tom (Jacob?). I mean, he did try to kill her, and she did leave him for dead once (on top of being held prisoner). And really the best thing about the show is the continuing cast of Red's merry crew of torturers and moles.
Sad but true. The writing has gotten a bit better the last few episodes. There are some recurring characters that add some substance like (Tom Connolly, the Director (Strathairn). And even Tom has gotten better.
I think the writing has been a LOT better the last few episodes, to the point where the show is interesting even when Red is not on screen. But as an actress Lizzy remains...not the very best.
She'll stay around if for no other reason her looks and very limited skills. Now maybe this kind of show isn't her thing for her type of acting.
Seriously though, this show is so bad it's not like they are giving her much to work with. I only watched part of season 1, but the only actor that came off halfway was Spader, the rest of the cast seemed terrible...and some of them I've seen in other shows where they weren't terrible.
I've seen her a few times on talk shows and found her surprisingly delightful and spontaneous. Made me think she'd be good in romantic comedy. She's so wrong to be an FBI agent.
Excellent season finale. Actually, I think that they REALLY stepped up their game on this show in the past several episodes--ever since that clip show, for sure. The plotting has been HUGELY improved. The story over these past few episodes could have been from a decent thriller movie, in fact. Tonight's episode could have served as a series finale, if necessary. The plotting in these last few episodes is so much better than it has been before, it's almost hard to believe it's the same writers. It will be interesting to see how things develop next season.
