I suspect many of you know that Clarence is all over Eric Weissberg and Marshall Brickman's "New Dimensions in Banjo & Bluegrass" album released in 1963. "Dueling Banjos", which became famous for its use in the movie "Deliverance", was later added to the album and it was rereleased in 1973 as the soundtrack for Deliverance. Great playing on the album by everybody.
You know, I just noticed the Dobro player (in between Hartford and Vassar) in that picture. I'm gonna assume it's Tut Taylor as he played on the Aeroplain album and all the various live recordings I've heard from that period.
and....if they lived in East St. Louis and had a baby son he might be Toddler Toodle-Oo Tuttle Tottle.
And if when he got a little older he was a rat fink, they'd call him "Tattler Toodle-Oo Tuttle Tottle."
Early Dawg - David Grisman (Sugar Hill) CD Recorded 1966 with the exception of track 16 which, according to the sleeve notes was recorded 1973. Slowly but surely I am trying to pick up all the David Grisman I can find. I don't know why it has taken me such a long time to eventually get hold of a copy of Early Dawg but now I have it on CD I'm really loving listening to every minute of it. Joyful and uplifting Bluegrass music and it's presented in a blue sleeve!
