Such a great movie. It had success in teh box office but it never really gets talked about, most likely because it was sandwiched between "BIG" and "Turner and Hooch" . more of a cult classic though

    Great cast though

Tom Hanks, Carrie Fisher, Bruce Dern, Rick, Duccomun, Henry Gibson, Brother Theodore, and Corey Feldman(his last real big hit)

To me this is one of those movies you just put on and sit and relax too, I know Tom Hanks has said some good things about it.

I feel like it's a perfect movie, and Bruce Dern is for sure the star of the movie, every scene of his is a must see

A very underrated movie for sure. Honestly, I think it's my favorite Tom Hanks movie.

If you are a die-hard fan of this movie, the workprint is a must see. It was released in the UK as a bonus on the Blu-ray a few years ago.

My brother watched this endlessly when he was a kid. Since I was still living at home and sharing a room with him, I saw it way more than I ever wanted to, so I can't have an objective opinion about this movie. I'll ask my brother and see if he'd like to make a statement.

I love this movie.! It was always on cable back in the day, and I watched it repeatedly. I haven’t seen it since early 90s. I may have to revisit it.

I agree. It’s not the best movie ever or anything, but it’s a fun, endlessly rewatchable comedy with a great cast. It’s a favorite of both of my parents, and it’s always a joy to watch.

To this day a friend and I *still* use Henry Gibson's "Yes....I *know* you did." in general conversation with each other.

And come on! This movie has Brother Theodore!

While DRAGNET ('87) will always by my ultimate favorite Tom Hanks goofy comedy (I own it on 35mm, 'nuff said?), THE 'BURBS comes in a close second, and I always thought it was an absolute shame that he kinda abandoned comedic roles after his string of Oscars. He's obviously a fantastic dramatic actor, but he was also a supreme funnyman.

I saw this in the theater and enjoyed it. I stumbled across it on cable a year or so ago - after not seeing it since its release - and I think I like it more. Now, it's a must-watch when it's on. It's a fun, quirky flick.

The film reminds me of being a kid. I had a group of friends have a sleep over and we watched it on video. Think I was about 14 or so. Really laughed our heads off. Always found the bit where the the old boy fell off the roof super funny!!
