Looks like an interesting sampler, but should I be concerned that they misspelled "Definitely" on the Jeff Beck title?

Where did you see this? I can't find it on Audio Fidelity's website.

 

Eclectic group of songs. I generally don't buy collections but this looks interesting.

 

Is this a preview of things to come?

 

Was wondering the same thing. Some of these songs don't have a corresponding AF multichannel album release.

 

Oh man I hope this brings on Quad reissues of the BÖC albums!

I kinda like these compilations. Reminds me of when I was first hunting down all those Steve mastered comps. Theyre fun.

 

But those weren't $30/pop...

 

Great comp. SACD makes it a no brainer purchase.

Nashville Skyline, anyone? I don't have an SACD player to hear these quad mixes, but I would buy one for that album in quad.

I'm with "Quad Linda" on the Nashville Skyline quad mix. It just isn't very good. Some people do like it however... I do like the music but not this mix. Some of these multichannel AF releases are amazing however. Doors, Jeff Beck, BS&T ect...

I really hope that means Hancock's "Headhunters" is on the way. If not, shame this sampler picked "Watermelon Man". I think that's the worst of the four tracks. Cool B.O.C. track, though.

Analogue Productions is releasing a multichannel/stereo SACD of Headhunters. It is also available as a Sony SACD with the quad mix.

 

I've got the Sony Headhuners SACD, but was hoping for a nice hybrid SACD/CD from Audio Fidelity. Thanks for the tip on the APO SACD, I didn't know that was coming. I like Ryan Smith's mastering work.

 

I hope it has the original quad mix without the added center and dot one. The Sony version is excellent but I would double up for a different/better transfer in the original 4.0...
