Ok you're catching me everywhere - I seem to remember some dissing in a Saint Etienne thread

I'll post yet again that my excuse is I'm closer to 56 than 55.

Good humour guys. One of the reasons I stopped lurking a couple of years ago. :)

Well I'm not actually following you Dave, but Cory might be. :D

There are about 25 of us that I would group as "KROQ Kids" posting about all the same bands and bumping into each other in all these threads!

Ugh...ordered the vinyl lp's from Amazon, got Torn Down and the new Panic At The Disco instead. The little sticker on the mailer even said Mixed Up...

In fairness, I do recall some fans hating the original album back in the day.

I have always loved it though.

Yeah, it helped me get into the band, actually.

Well I'm on track 7 (pictures of you) and have loved everything so far. :)

That's sad, so many missing so much great music. But then again I never listened to what the masses did.

Edit: I mean the masses of my age....

Well, the sticker was accurate in its own way....

I spent the first 37 years of my life in Montreal. In the later part of that time, I found bands like this because of a radio station called 99 The Buzz from Burlington Vermont. In the mid-late 90's it was a revelation compared to the "classic rock" I could hear in Montreal. :)

Edit: OK I've drunk too much tonight. This really belongs in the Garbage thread

I've actually been listening to The Cure since the early 80s

Sadly That station is now gone, as is WHFS in DC, but you understood my use of quotation marks!

I'm enjoying disc two of Mixed Up set right now on my Sennheisers.

It was always one of the best remix albums - the remixers kept fidelity to the original song structures.

I know Mark Hollis hates it and it wasn't band authorized, but I also like Talk Talk's History Revisited.

Make that 26! KROQ is unlistenable nowadays. Modern horrible pop music. I miss the days when radio wasn’t something to avoid at all costs.

I just so happened to be near a Barnes & Noble today. I saw this and figured I should get it now since it may be my last opportunity to pick it up without having to order it. I can’t wait to hear it.

I'm really enjoying this. I passed it up years ago thinking it was just a cash grab. Turns out it's really nice.

Very cool. Just hearing about this now -- how did I miss the earlier announcement? I'll be picking this up when I get the chance. :)

I understand your disappointment, but I’d keep Pray For The Wicked too, I think it’s a decent album.

I got the 3cd yesterday and so far have been focusing on the new mixes on Torn Down, which I am really enjoying. I do wish the whole 2nd cd was also available on vinyl rather than just one track.

Yeah both MU and TD are a lot of fun. My favorite on Torn Down is Like Cockatoos.

I have the RSD picture discs of both but the records are so noisy. I just got Mixed Up on black vinyl but probably need to get Torn Down as well.

Really digging Torn Down. I can imagine most of these as concert arrangements.

I will answer my own question. The black vinyl Mixed Up sounds fantastic. Nicely dynamic. Quiet pressing too.

I ran right out and bought Torn Up.
