The whole thing is available On Demand I believe.

If you have Xfinity they're running a free preview all week-just have to go to your On Demand section to see it. This documentary is excellent-I'm bingeing it right now. Honestly they could have done all the shows on just Jimmy Iovine-he's had his hand in so much music history.

I think the 'moving back and forth' from Jimmy's story to Dr. Dre's story helps the doc....

I watched the whole thing on demand yesterday. I knew about Iovine's track record as a producer but never paid much attention to his business career. While I knew of Dr. Dre, I never knew much about him or his career. I found the whole thing interesting and engrossing, 4 and 1/2 hours well spent.

Only watched the two parts so far...
Waiting to see what Geffen says..
I assume Jimmy based Interscope on Geffen's model..
AND, the 'divesting' of said label from Warners should take up some time.

I've watched the first two episodes and I think it's great. Not sure it needs to be 4 hours though, could have some of it cut down. Interesting to see how they dealt with Dre's tendency to beat on females.

    Just finished Part Three...
Real good and concise look at the time between the birth of Interscope to the death of Tupac.

I really enjoyed the first three parts, but part four just felt like a big Beats/Apple commercial.

I would love to see this, but don't have HBO. Usually I can save things like this to my (DVD) Netflix queue as a future release, but Netflix doesn't even recognize it. Ah well, hopefully I'll remember it if it ever does become available on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

Somewhat off topic, but it seems that you need a stupid number of subscriptions to keep up with what is good to watch these days. I draw the line at standard cable, Netflix DVD, and Amazon Prime. That's already more money than a rational person should be spending on such a thing.

I can't get past the title.

    1)Seems like a hagiography.

2)That title should be off limits - if not for the movie then for the Lenny Bruce routine about the movie.

You might be surprised. Iovine's story in this context only becomes very interesting once he crosses paths with Dre.

PLUS.... he seems to come across as a 'Geffen, Jr.'!
    Only difference is...
at least, HE kept his 'artist' with him (Dre & Trent).

Anybody watching this 4 part documentary? It's pretty far reaching, but it's main focus is the relationship between Dr. Dre and producer Jimmy Iovine. Cool stuff. It may even open up some minds that aren't already open to hip hop and rap.

It's worth watching. I am not a fan of hip hop or rap but after this I do think Dr Dre is a talented engineer. The rest of the hip hop/rap people I have already forgotten. And, Iovine seemed to go from one good thing to the next.

So if yr not interested in hip hop/rap at all, like me, is it still worth watching? I actually enjoyed that flick where Ice Cube's son played him (Compton?). I only watched it after my son browbeat me into it but it wasn't bad. My son left for a position in Nantucket so he won't be around to pressure me!;) (I wish he was, I miss him real bad!).

    My final summation, at the end, is;
when I watch Jimmy trying to figure out NOT ONLY, how to get people interested in 'Apple Music', but , how to make money out of music in this century, I almost wanna say, "Don't you have ENOUGH MONEY?!?! JEEZ!!"
It's guys like him that makes me a little happy that the industry is still in dire straits ...
speaking of... I had no idea he produced "Making Movies"!
