Matrix is DEF happening, prob March '11, but DO NOT HOLD ME TO THIS DATE UNTIL IT'S CONFIRMED.

Steve Hoffman will def master, and it will be on gold discs in a serial-numbered box with notes.

It isn't Steve's name that grabs everyone's attention, but the fact that Jeff was saying in 2010 that it would come out soon. That said, I wouldn't be shocked to know a Steve version is in the can

just another example of how we have been told for years product will be released. then after years, maybe even a decade, it gets released then people try to say they told us so. that's like if I tell someone they will die and 50 years later they do and I say "I was right. told you so"

About 100 days until the privately held 1967 soundboards can be released/monetized(in the EU) without Jampol having any power to stop it.

This is something that gets mentioned a lot. Are any tape owners actually considering doing it? Are we as Doors fans that lucky? It really would be fantastic if true. I just don't want to get my hopes up and then be disappointed (like the forever postponed/mythical Matrix box).

...there's a very decent nice recording from Danbury high school 1967...I could see this being released in some format with the artist touch of Bruce botnick...it's not bad for a stage recording and all the bands instruments are easily recongnizable ...

...oops, I posted this in the wrong topic.. sorry folks ...

I'm happy with the forthcoming IOW will get Vinyl and BD of course

but, as many people, i wasn't happy with the useless London Fog Memorabilia (but happy with the material)
and of course, wasn't happy with the "extras" of the deluxe box

It's funny when you think about the amount of elapsed time. Since Jampol posted in 2010 that the complete Matrix (from master tapes) was being released soon, someone could have attended a four year university and then went on to get a masters degree.

  17. The Doors' discussion on this site has been increasingly contentious the past few years. Entire threads have gone off the rails when a few fans have gotten into back-and-forth sniping. I think everyone is happy with the IOW news. I know I am.

    Maybe it's the End...

You need new material. This isn't working for you. You're still guessing wrong.

Well clearly schedules change. Hello! So when even the manager says it's coming and certain things pop up and it doesn't, does that mean he doesn't know anything? I mean your post is just inaccurate. Sorry.

The Matrix release is overdue. Remember, nine years ago -- the 2008 release was marketed to fans as being from "first generation tapes." The Doors, Warner, Botnick, Holzman etc knew this wasn't true at the time, but chose to lie in a press release anyway. It's way overdue for them to make this right.

Psyched for IOW. I've always dug the performance, while workman like, ya can't go wrong with multitrack tapes. JDM sings pretty well.

As far as Matrix, I'll believe it when I see it. I'll keep playing the boots I've had for forever. I have enjoyed the Fog box for how much music is in it, wish it was complete.
