I want the 6 studio albums back in print with the original mixes, without any other extra crap like surround mixes and modern remixes. A better box set would be nice as well. A singles compilation would be grand.

Are there a lot of (any?) studio outtakes from the album sessions that could be included on the albums as bonus tracks?

Never have to graphite the hinges of the Doors music.
They're always swingin' back and forth.

There's the bonus tracks on the 40th anniv. CD reissues. Question. Are the bonus tracks on those 40th anniv. CDs remixes as well? Or is it just the original studio album tracks that are remixed?

That's actually a pretty exciting bunch of tapes. Hope the Doors work out a deal for them.

Between the DCC and mofi cds I am convinced this is about as good as these original 6 are gonna sound. Hopefully the new releases will be live stuff.

The Doors camp is the only 'group' that makes Gail Zappa look like a hurry up reissuer.

MFSL did Door's CDs? I wasn't aware of that. Are you sure? Maybe you're referring to the older MFSL vinyl reissue of the first album.

I believe they have had them for a while, I was told their legal team stepped in and stopped the auction.

Oops. I meant the Audio Fidelity CDs. I have DCCs of Doors, Srange Days, Waiting For Sun And La Woman. Audio Fidelity of Soft Parade and Morrison Hotel. Again, I cannot imagine another version of the original albums sounding better.

When Robby speaks of "newly unearthed" recordings, he likely isn't talking about anything Doors enthusiasts aren't already aware of. He is likely regurgitating promotional rhetoric for the masses. I'll be surprised if something special outside of the Matrix, the Fog, LA Woman outtakes, Paris Blues, 1968/1969 circa studio reels exists in The Doors archives.

Wish he would team up with Densmore for a few more accoustic shows. Love their performance together after Ray died.

  18. I'm with you here! I'm pretty desperate for The Matrix, having not even heard all of the current CD yet but I flatly refuse to buy it anticipating the promised-for-six-years full works version from the genuine master reels. :waiting:

Shock will be if they find anything besides audience recordings. They're in the process now of finding out what they got. We shall see.

I'd love to see the mono mixes released on CD. Perhaps as a Doors In Mono set, kinda like the Beatles one... the first 3 albums, plus the mono singles masters.
