Suede’s Dog Man Star. Perfect as it is but you can add all the (Anderson/Butler) songs from Stay Together, We Are The Pigs and Wild Ones singles, and have a killer double album.

I think I would have liked it if The Buggles' Adventures in Modern Recording were a two record set. Additional material from them is always welcome, and the songs might have hung together a little better if there were more of 'em.

Slightly off topic... I so wish The Clash released Combat Rock in its original configuration (Rat Patrol From Fort Brag, a double album). I know they did release a double and triple album in their career, but to my ears, Rat Patrol far exceeds Combat Rock. Oh well

There was a thread similar to this a week or so ago, and this is what I posted:

    Television - Marquee Moon

Not so far fetched considering the following songs were all part of their set circa'75/'76:
    Hard On Love
Judy ( the descending riff on this was also used for M. Moon, might be why it was axed, but it's a lovely pop song)
    O Mi Amore
    Let Me Out
    Whatcha' doin' On Them Stairs
    Come On In
    Double Exposure
    Kingdom Come
    Breakin' In My Heart
    Poor Circulation
    Adventure
    I'm Gonna Find You

Kingdom Come and Breakin' In My Heart were 10-15 minutes live, and all the songs are equal in quality to what wound up on Marquee Moon.

Of the ones OP mentioned, I'd say Rush would have had a great double-LP, but I'd take a Queen double too.
Overall, I wish Supertramp had done a double-LP at their peak.

By the time Queen was big enough to get the green light on a double album, they couldn't even come close to putting out a consistent single album

Red Rose Speedway would’ve been a great double album

Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska. It was recorded almost concurrently with a good half of Born in the USA in early 1982, and at one point he intended to release a half electric/half acoustic double LP. Tracklist was:

    Side One:
    01 Nebraska - 4:32
    02 Atlantic City - 4:00
    03 Mansion on the Hill - 4:08
    04 The Big Payback - 1:59
    05 Highway Patrolman - 5:40
    06 State Trooper - 3:17
    Side Two:
    07 Used Cars - 3:11
    08 Open All Night - 2:58
    09 Johnny 99 - 3:44
    10 My Father's House - 5:07
    11 A Reason to Believe - 4:11
    Side Three:
    12 Born in the USA - 4:40
    13 Murder Incorporated - 3:57
    14 Downbound Train - 3:35
    15 I'm Goin' Down - 3:29
    16 Glory Days - 4:15
17 Love Will Not Let You Down - 4:28
    Side Four:
    18 Working on the Highway - 3:13
    19 Darlington County - 3:15
    20 Frankie - 7:22
    21 I'm on Fire - 2:40
    22 This Hard Land - 4:46

As good as any of The Boss' records, if you ask me :D
