Yeah, but in some ways it had some real 'dawn of the jet age/space age' '50s feeling and vibe to the look. There V's on all kinds of chrome car ornamentation (to signify V-8's as well as depicting jets and rockets with sort V - looking delta wings), there was the flying wing experimental aircraft that was a giant jet powered flying V -- I'm a little surprised it wasn't at all popular the first time around.

Agreed on the pettiness (not Tom). I think anything released by the Hendrix Family Estate will probably become itema non grata for me. Since I already have all the Hendrix music I need. I prefer the originals anyways....

I think the lengthy solo that opens "Celluloid Heroes" is a Flying V.

I think "Waterloo Sunset" would be the V too.

In always thought of the Moderne as sort of a deformed Flying V,it would also be celebrating 60,if they would have actually released it.Sadly it was the unadopted orphan of the trio of cool 1958 guitars from Gibson.

I always thought it looked like something straight out of the early-80's (I like it). :)
