My dad was 12 when he saw it in movie theater in the small town where he grew up. He said people were really scared. It was really a terrifying experience. It was a simpler time back then.
One of the biggest myths is the name of the assistant who took the wrong brain, not[Egor]but[Fritz]Egor didn't show up until[Son Of Frankenstein].
I consider the following Frankenstein movies stone cold classics: Frankenstein The Bride of Frankenstein Son of Frankenstein Frankenstein The True Story (wish this would come to Blu-ray in its full length version) Curse of Frankenstein Revenge of Frankenstein Frankenst in Must Be Destroyed Frankenstein Created Woman I thought it was clever of Hammer to make the Dr. the main focus and Cushing is unmatched in the role.
I thought PD started-out that way too. But it just got so terrible at points Example: Here’s a link of Vanessa (Eva Green) getting into a shouting match with a puppet. Literally screaming nonsense gibberish at a doll for a solid minute & twenty while the camera shakes. This scene made me physically cringe watching it. specifically 2:40 - 4:00 in the clip.
I'd agree that PD made mistakes during it's run, but overall, there more hits than misses. Although, my statement reads like an opinion about the show (it does fit!), I actually had their handling of the Frankenstein mythos in mind when I wrote it. After all, this IS a thread about Frankie!
Didn't bother me. It was a variations on voodoo dolls and provided a method for the devil to speak to Vanessa directly. Would you rather have her argue with an empty room with a spirit In it that we couldn't see? I thought it was a rather clever way to carry off the scene having Vanessa argue, in essence, with herself as a puppet of Lucifier. I guess Dead of Night and Magic aren't for you either. Like any series it had is weak moments (particularly during the rushed third season) but the highlights were really good.
yes in understood that , on this picture Boris is not scary , looks like a refined gentleman . Bela has this unique stare on the other hand .
This imagining of Victor Frankenstein's personnal diary by Roscoe Cooper and illustrator Timothy Basil Ering is a nice thing to have.
