9/27/72 peaceful. 3/28/73 creepy and scary. I prefer 9/27/72. 3/28/73 falls apart in my opinion when the vocals come in.
That's not "falling apart," that's "quantum entanglement" at work. When the band gets closer to the event horizon the forces tear loose from the axis.
I went the night before. it's not considered a great show but I had a great time. it has the last easy wind too. I met pigpen outside before the doors opened. that was kind of cool.
You're a lucky soul to have been there! What a great memory to have, huh? I'm crazy grateful just to be able to hear the tapes.

Lame! They should have called it Best Of Previously Released Live. There must be a few never officially released tracks, right? Although it doesn't look like it.

Right on. Not sure why 4/4/71 gets the "not a great show" tag. There's a relaxed solidity to this show, plus a great setlist and sublime (if not flashy) playing. A bit of a country swing tinge to "St. Stephen" even. And Jerry's tone is dirty and rough like a cheap Virginia bourbon. I absolutely love his sound on this show.
No, but I noticed that @LUNACHUCK hasn't posted since August and like I said - I miss his warm spirit and joyful posts.
Nothing new on that list. Looks like it’s a companion to the other best of. Not a bad compilation by any means, but the initiated need not bother.

These are also available in the trading world at the usual place. The piece of music from July (both days) is very interesting...
22 January 1966- Longshoreman's Hall Trips Festival. That's what I wrote on the CD, very much period blues, although Phil's playing is quite fascinating on this version of Good Morning Little Schoolgirl.
If I'm not mistaken, he's fairly active on the Instagram. At least I think it's the same dude I'm following. I don't know many others named Chuck as into the CRB and Dead as he is.
@LUNACHUCK sometimes lurks the thread and clicks "like" on stuff. But I agree with the others - I like it better when he's around.
