Early 80's Dead shows are usually better in AUD recordings than boards.

I got into it maybe eight years ago, but have only listened to it once during my period of renewed interest in the Dead — and I really wasn’t listening to it with any thought to their involvement (aside from Jerry on “Laughing,” of course). But I will next time!

Was listening to Dead channel earlier tonight and they played 5/21/77 Lakeland Florida ... mind blown.
What a show. Will have to hunt down Dick’s Picks 29 now... Edit. Matter of fact. Had to bid on one currently on EBay. Will probably go for more than I’m willing to pay but...

The swing through The South is the hottest part of the May 1977 tour, IMO.

Question for any old timers, or maybe just those who know.

In 1970 when they did the 'Evening with the GD' format it went:
    Set 1 - Acoustic GD
    Set 2 - NRPS
    Set 3- Electric GD

Later in 1970 they abandoned the acoustic sets, but they still had NRPS with them - did they just have NRPS open or did they sometimes do set 1 GD, set 2 NRPS, set 3 more GD?

Thanks to Steve Silberman getting that one officially released. He raved about that one to me at a party a few years before it saw the official light of day.

I agree completely. 5/21 is probably my favorite of the tour and 5/22 is close competition.

Truckin'>Drums>The Other One>Sing Me Back Home, live at the Lyceum, 5/24/72.

Second sets from this tour never fail. Some are literally mindblowing, and the less inspired, excellent.

It's such a classic I don't need to post the front cover.

I was waiting for someone to point this out. I didn't want to play Facts Police.

I saw the GD there in '88. At the time some were saying that was the best show of the summer tour. I didn't have a clue about that because it was my second show, and, um, reasons.

Enjoying a good late era China > Rider, 6/16/91 Giants Stadium. I believe @warewolf95 is a fan of this one.

@warewolf95 is a fan of 1991 in general, his show reviews for '91 are legendary! I hope that kid and his Uncle have gotten their scene together, so they can get back truckin' on!

;) its a daily ongoing adventure. Courting various companies and opportunities and also trying to get our own truck.

The biggest obstacle is that because of my lack of experience insirance for me is very expensive, so that doesnt help matters at all.

In Dead news i received my excellent 2cd Deluxe of the debut album. Awesome stuff! Its like having another Daves or something haha.

Played the Help > Slip > Franklins from 6/9/77. Fantastic! 30+ minutes. Jerry is on fire.

Aren't we due for another box soon? Seems like it's been a while.

I think I read that previews of the upcoming box will be discussed by DL2 at the Meet Up At The Movies, so apparently it won't be 'til after that

I have not seen anything regarding said meet-up, do you know when that is happening? Thanks!

I saw somewhere that it was going to be on August 1st, for obvious reasons. Don't remember where I saw this mentioned though.

I think that show is going to be 7/7/89 JFK (Crimson White and Indigo)
