Iconoclassics. Mastered by Vic Anesini. All you need.

It'll be good enough for your average punter on a fixed budget.

Amazon saying September 16. $48.99. Let's hope they're all Vic Anesini masterings.

Amazon.ca's listing is not correct where it states that these are the first five albums as The Guess Who. This set starts at "Canned Wheat", but it is the band's fifth album (fourth if you consider the album "Chad Allan & the Expressions" not to be a Guess Who album).

In any event, great price for a great run of albums. This particular punter has pre-ordered it :) Thanks for the head's up!

Now that would be a major plus for those lacking these, on digital.

I'd say the chances of these being Vics Inconclassic masterings are pretty low.

Well, it's on Sony - I think this may be the original cd masterings from Canada, which weren't all that bad, actually. But who knows? Would Iconoclassic let Sony use their remasters for this?

This. Seek out those Iconoclassic discs...stellar presentation (artwork, liner notes and mastering).

I can only wonder what mastering(s) that 5 cd et will use...a mix of the Iconoclassic, Buddha and 2000 era Canada cd's?

Well, Sony owns the tapes...they just licensed the title to Iconoclassic :)

I doubt they would be, at last not Canned Wheat and American Woman, as he's not yet done those. The other three titles...possibly.

Yeah, but good luck trying to find a copy of So Long Bannatyne at a decent price.

Sorry, I had no idea it was OOP, nor that 6 years have passed ?!? Mine were all pre orders at the time. Yes, I saw one on eBay, one in the Amazon Marketplace, both around $50.00. Jeez.

These are the first 5 albums of "The Guess Who". The previous albums were by "The Guess Who?"

Wheatfield Soul was released by "The Guess Who". It preceded Canned Wheat.

From "Wheatfield Soul" on,the Label was RCA,the ones issued before were on the Scepter/Wand Labels-Those were issued from 1965 to '66...there were ones issued as "Chad Allen & the Expressions",too, from 1963 to '64,Re-issued later as "Guess Who?",no "The" in the Name yet.
