Actually, Entwistle worked in a tax office. Daltrey was the sheet metal worker.

I just realized, Townshend never had a proper *job* job. He went to art school, played in the band, got bankrolled by Kit Lambert, and took his "Goldhawk manifesto" *suuuuuuper* seriously.

I love Pete, but it is kind of hilarious how he never really got his hands dirty working a 9 to 5 like everyone else. No wonder he's such a jagbag.

Not a guitarist but Phil Collins was an actor, as was Davy Jones of the Monkees.

I'm referencing Entwistle's joking response to the question the thread raises, from a TV interview that was later included in "The Kids Are Alright".

No luck in finding the clip, but I'll trust your memory over mine.

  17. Interestingly enough, fellow Butthole co-founder Paul Leary was pursuing an MBA. Guess the wild world of finance and accounting just warped their li'l minds...

I just happened to read last evening that Jon Anderson of Yes was a milkman.

As a slight tangent, I believe Bruce Springsteen has said that he never had a paid job other than playing music.

Surprised to read that Buck is the only record store employee in this thread (so far).

He’s tied with Male Hookers (1), but trails Grave Diggers (2).
