It's like they (the writers? producers?) are too afraid to have it be just a one- or two-person show. To me, that's when it's been at its best.

I don't care about black Phil.
I don't care about black Phil's girlfriend whose name I can't even remember.
    I don't care about Melissa.
I don't care about Gail (though I'll admit she's had some funny moments recently).

Todd I've actually warmed up to a lot. I like the actor.

Will Forte can be very entertaining but not in this series as this character. I finally gave up on it a few episodes ago when he pulled the gun on everyone.

Phil/Tandy has become wayyyyy more bearable in season two. The writers actually read fan feedback on Reddit and take the criticisms to heart.

I can't find it anywhere. I think there are three more episodes left this season.

It's an interesting 20 minutes every week, though I would have bailed long ago if it were an hour show.

Any word on a third season? At this point I kind of expect it to be cancelled. My only hope is that they have enough notice of the cancellation to write and produce a proper series finale.

I told my wife that the writers and Will Forte were obviously given some notes from the studio or the network. Phil was such an irritating character in season one that I couldn't see how the show would succeed as there was nobody to root for or sympathize with. Season two was an improvement but Phil is still a douche. It's an interesting experiment though, create a character that is almost universally despised and surround him with other unrelateable characters and see if it clicks.

I miss season 1 Phil. I found him more entertaining.

I thought it was fun and funny. It was good to see an interesting "other" last man on Earth. I wonder if he'll be part of the story at any point or if that was just a tool for the writers to get Jason Sudeikis into the story. I enjoyed it.

Yeah, it was a good one. They're good at "premieres": the series premiere, season two premiere, season two "mid-season premiere." All really good episodes.

"...this just continues the tradition of Last Man thinking outside of the box and trying to be as anti-sitcom as possible. I spoke a lot about how gorgeous the cinematography in space looked, but this ocean stuff is on a whole other level. I’ve been told that this episode was $800,000 over budget and a big contention point for FOX, so please appreciate the incredible cinematography and grandeur you’re getting here."

Last Night's Last Man on Earth Was a Truly Great Sitcom Episode »

"Sunday night’s episode put my doubts to rest, and cements The Last Man on Earth‘s status as among the most imaginative, and best, shows on television—comedy or drama. Indeed, this comedy moved me more than any of the prestige dramas that air opposite it on Sunday-night cable lineups have done so far."

Jason and Boone Jr.! What's not to like. I'm glad we got a bit of back story too, virus, body bags. . . . Can't wait for the Miller Brothers to be reunited.

We gave up after about 6 episodes. Just wasn't 'last man' enough.

Saw an advert for it a couple of days ago, looks like the cast is up to around 10 now.
