I hope this show gets to run for a while, I think there's a lot of possibilities here. Great characters, it's up to the writers to make this work like I think it can. I became a fan Sunday night and since have watched all the past episodes on their webpage.

Melissa: "What's your favorite part of Shawshank, Phil?"

Phil: "(chuckles) Uh... There's so many parts. So many parts to... choose from and to pick from. Uh, probably, you know, the-the part where the Shawshank is redeemed.
'Cause, like, you know, Hanks does some... "

Carol: "Well, I've never seen it."

Todd: "Well, I'm... You-You got to see it. You know? As they say in the movie, get busy livin' or get busy..."

    Melissa: "Get busy dyin'. "

    Phil: "Dyin'.
Yeah. It truly was a Shawshank redemption.

Has anyone had a traffic accident from blowing through the stop signs yet? That would be a nice vindication of Carol's view of their world.

I have to say that I enjoyed Will Forte as the true Last Man On Earth in the first show. But I think they were wise to run the second show immediately following the first, just so people could see there would be more substance to the plot as the show progressed.

Running 2 segments back to back has become my favorite way to watch TV. There are so many shows in syndication that offer 2 programs daily or weekly. They piggy-backed on a good trend with the Last Man opener - "huh, this must be a new favorite because I'm seeing 2 episodes tonight just like my old favorites".

The Walking Dead started over on MyTV last night - I have that double episode thing on my mind.

Ah, I have the names wrong, even with so few characters. And obviously I've missed more than I've seen of this show. Still I hope to catch up and at least have this show as a viewing option throughout the spring.

No you were right about the name, the blonde girl is named something other than Carol.

I like her much better on this show than Mad Men. She isn't the world's greatest actress so this part she seems much more relaxed in (and yes, I realize her character om MM is much different).

I'm finding the show absolutely hilarious. And I'm so glad there is no laugh track.

BTW, can we start a new thread for Last man on Earth No Spoilers from Comic Book thread.

I don't want to find out who is supposed to die before it happens.

I find myself wondering how they can save this thing ...while I'm watching the show. Could they be testing scenes and plot twists before the ideas get cemented into scripts? For example couldn't they have found someone to say that finding a cow was a funny thing ("Anyone for a White Russian?), but integrating the cow into Phil's jealousy/rivalry thing would take the fun out of the cow thing.

It seems to be hanging on by a thread. I hope they can find a way to attract a consistent viewer base.

She is perfect for her character on Mad Men, but part of that means being very unlikeable.

I am glad to see her on this show & she is quite good at it.

I'm still watching, but it does seem to slowly be going downhill. Enough with Phil acting like a jealous baby already! There's so many more routes they could take with a premise like this.

I was going to write "Poor Phil still can't get any from Melissa" this morning, but haven't had a chance.

Looking at the ratings and thinking the story revolves around how Phil can't get any Melissa, there seems to be not much other plot. Will we weekly watch a frustrated Phil get turned down by Melissa? How long can that plotline last? I want to keep liking the show, but there needs to be more than what's been happening every week.

I wouldn't mind seeing them travel a bit around the "bare" planet.

  25. I love the show. It's character based humor at its best.
