THE RESIDENT - Recent Hammer thriller with Hillary Swank, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Christopher Lee and Lee Pace. Started
off solid and built up a nice level of unease, but eventually devolved into "unstoppable psycho" silliness. Very nicely shot and done,
    though.

Lots of drama with decent (Brooklyn NY) cops & robbers action set in the early 70's. Man they had to rent a boatload of cars from the period.

The women were hot. Now I want to watch Colombiana with Zoe Saldana. Look for Eve Hewson (Bono's daughter) too.

Ted. Better than I thought it'd be but too much plot.

Finally watched RoboCop (2014). First half was decent, then it got pretty meh.

  11. Grand Prix. Mifune and Hardy in the same film?

"Get On Up". Though it lacked some flow and had some jarring transitions, I'd still recommend it.

    Yeah! Was expecting more.

  15. Yep. The dude's got talent.

  16. Yeah I thought this was kind of silly and paint by numbers. If Hammer hopes to prosper in today's world they'll have to do better than this.

Well, their most recent, THE QUIET ONES, which I just watched, wasn't any better. Far worse, I'd say. Kind of a mix
of THE LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE, THE EXORCIST II, and fill-in-the-blank found footage movie. Whenever it would
approach being interesting, we'd cut to shaky, badly-shot footage being taken by the "always film everything" member of
the paranormal investigation crew. I looooathe the found footage/camcorder movie style, and this one did nothing to
change my opinion that it's become a hack, take-you-out-of-the-movie crutch. Other than that, it was a fairly dull film
that was only made occasionally bearable by some Slade and T.Rex music once in a while. I guess THE WOMAN IN BLACK
still stands for me as the only good neo-Hammer film that I've seen (never saw RAVE TO THE GRAVE).

THE GIVER - OK sci-fi, reminiscent of LOGAN'S RUN mixed with PLEASANTVILLE. Refreshingly not action-oriented, probably
    best for teens.

LET'S BE COPS - Ugh. Remember when all comedies weren't about a-holes and aimed at idiots?

Even though unnecessary, the remake "Let Me In" (of the film Let The Right One In) was well-made and quite effective.

I saw The Quiet Ones in the theater and I agree it was mediocre at best. I do like a couple of the actors involved (Jared Harris and Olivia Cooke) but it was too clunky for them to salvage it.

I'd heard LET ME IN was good. Coming along relatively soon after I saw LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, I didn't
bother to check it out, as the original was still so fresh in my mind.
