Not seen that one, and perhaps it's one that's better than his average - I guess we'll add it to the Netflix queue, but I'll not get my hopes up as I've seen several and that's where I formed my opinion of his style.

    It's a good film regardless.
So win win, or just win.

I watched Criterion's Blu-ray release of The Game last night. Beautiful job by Criterion on this movie.

    Young Adam.
Drama set in Scotland in the 50s.
    Bleak, but brilliant.

Chasing Shackleton - watched 2 of 3 parts on Netflix streaming yesterday, in which a team take the exact same route in the southern ocean from Elephant Island to South Georgia (island) using a replica of the boat Ernest Shackleton used to make the trip in 1916. Very interesting documentary - this is what reality TV should be like. Will watch the last part tonight where they attempt to trek over the extremely harsh wintry conditions of the South Georgia island mountain range.

Also saw, Martyrs (2008), which is probably the most brutal & violent film I've ever seen.

Tim Burton's remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Awful, awful movie though I was surprised to see Norman Bates of Bates Motel in the title role.

Two Days, One Night (2014). Another superb work from the Dardenne brothers. Almost full afternoon screening in very rainy London!

Not much of a movie buff, but I did watch the 2003 film "Monster" with my wife this weekend.

Wow! They did a great job of uglying up Charlize Theron. She did a great acting job too. I never slipped out of believing she was a down on her luck, trashy prostitute. Had I not heard of the movie & known it was her, I would have never guessed.

Good old fashioned fun. Plus it is nice to see a Batman movie where I don't need to see my psychiatrist afterwards.

Mr. Brooks. A movie that Dane Cook dies in, which I find a huge selling point.

Decalogue 1 - "I am the Lord thy God; thou shalt have no other God but me."
The first episode in the series, and wow, I'm speechless... Suffice it to say that the film is stunning, one of the best films I've seen in a while.

THE AMERICANO (Olive Films Blu-ray) - Technicolor Glenn Ford western directed by William Castle, set in South America. Decent, if not terribly memorable.

FIRE MAIDENS FROM OUTER SPACE (Olive Films Blu-ray) - So bad it's highly entertaining. I see that MST3K did this one, and now I need to see that, as this one
    seemed pretty ripe for ridicule.

INNOCENT BYSTANDERS (Olive Films Blu-ray) - From the director of GET CARTER, a tough-guy spy film with funky fashions and score. Ultimately not great (lagged
too much for me in the last third), but a watchable diversion.

TALES THAT WITNESS MADNESS (Olive Films Blu-ray) - Fun early 70s UK horror anthology, featuring Donald Pleasance, Joan Collins and Kim Novak.

Albert Brooks' brilliant LOOKING FOR COMEDY IN THE MUSLIM WORLD.
The fact that you've never heard of it is not Mr. Brooks' fault...Comcast had it
in their program listings here as "Comedy/World" (a ballsy lot they are, eh?)
