Adam Sandler is very good in this movie. He looks like 1970's Dylan.

Yeah cool soundtrack as well. Extras Jam session was a hoot.
Any other good Sandler dramas ?

THOR: THE DARK WORLD - Dull and uninteresting. Nice visuals, but like the first THOR movie, I just couldn't get into it and felt like it was more of a duty to see this so that I'd understand the rest
of the films that'll lead up to the next AVENGERS.

PARANOIA - Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) and Doctor Doom (Julian McMahon) pressure Thor's younger Brother (Liam Hemsworth) into doing a little industrial espionage on Han Solo (Harrison Ford). Decent thriller with a good cast.

I thought Paranoia was embarrassingly bad. It played like a thriller written by a 12 year old, never believable for a millisecond. Liam Hemsworth should stick to being a model because he's definitely not believable once he opens his mouth. Not even the combined talents of Ford, Oldman, McMahon and Amber Heard could make this one worthwhile. A complete waste of everyone's time...especially the audience.

Overlooked Arthur Penn noir from 1975. With Gene Hackman, Jennifer Warren, James Woods, Susan Clark and a very young Melanie Griffith. Set in L.A. and Florida, Hackman takes the burned out detective character to a different level and gives it poignancy in this sad tale. The entire cast is great and I could never understand why this one seems to have been forgotten.

Priest (2011). Nonsensical but fun vampire variation on "The Searchers" (yes, seriously). It was perfect watching for a rainy L.A. evening.

Watched Perfect Sense last night. Very thought provoking. Kinda freaked my wife & I out a bit.

Eva Greene & Ewan MacGregor. Good eye candy for both of us.

Bad Grandpa Hilarious. And the kid in it is brave beyond his years and hilarious. He steals the show.

Grabbers (2012)- an entertaining alien invasion film set on the Irish coast. Very good acting and characters, and a lot of humor as well. Some 25-30 years ago, this would have been a pretty sizeable box office hit as it had a Spielberg vibe, I thought. And the special effects were quite excellent too. Anyway, well worth a rental or on Netflix streaming.

Thanks for the review, I've had that one in my Netflix queue for awhile but haven't watched it yet.

Love it. Showed it to the wife years ago and she liked it too
I loved the scene where the two characters talk about where they were when JFK was shot. So natural, just like any other person would discuss in 1975

  20. The Colony. Entertaining if derivative thriller.
    The Game-Criterion, Heaven's Gate Criterion .
    Latest Thor flick (theater) entertaining.

  21. I still maintain that it's an entertaining flick but nowhere near as good or thematically complex as The Prestige.

Man of Steel - overall it's pretty awful, the action sequences are absurd, total overkill.
