I finally opened my "Wonder Years" boxed set and watched the first three episodes. Watched the first two episodes of "It Takes a Thief" Season 1. Watched the first episode of "Maverick" Season 1
Broadchurch We liked Gracepoint so decided to go back and watch the original version...first 2 episodes tonight.
Last of the Summer Wine. But it was one of the episodes after Bill Owen (the Compo character), died; and I really don't care for the series much after that.
I finished the first season of "The Killing" last night. The Danish original (Sarah Lund), not the US remake. Great show.
Broadchurch (2 more episodes, half way through the first series now) NCIS (this week's episode, a little weak) MacGyver (felt like something a little cheesy) Columbo (while doing my workout this morning)
We're enjoying Broadchurch. Having watched Gracepoint first I'm sure if we are at an advantage or a disadvantage - so far they are very very similar (though I understand the endings differ?) but overall I just like seeing a different take on the same story. Getting Tennent to do both versions was a great score. Sometimes I'm pretty bad with the accents though and have to have the subtitles on but after episode 2 I'd adjusted and can do without now. Will tag Happy Valley and check it out.
If you haven't seen the BBC series LUTHER then definitely add that to your watch list. My favorite police drama in many a moon. Idris Elba and Ruth Wilson are both incredible in it.
We binged on the BBC's - The Missing - last night (3 hours). Similar to The Killing, Broadchurch/Gracepoint, in that it's a one season, one crime, serial drama. Well done with only 1 actor we recognized (and in a minor role at that). Now being repeated on Starz-On Demand. Highly recommended.
How to Get Away With Murder Mrs DC started getting it on the dvd and was a little iffy on it - I almost immediately gave up as I found not a single character I liked, identified with, or wanted to see succeed - I just disliked every single one of them. She was giving it until the "winter finale" and after this she's deleted it from the queue - when she gives up on a show you know you're doing something wrong.
Yeah, and so much of the show is geared towards "screw everyone" (in all meanings of the phrase) and pushing the envelope for what goes on prime time over any kind of innovative writing just puts me off.
Dr Who World Tour, screened by BBC4 a few days ago. http://www.doctorwho.tv/worldtour/ It followed Moffat, Capaldi & Coleman as they did promos in Korea, Mexico, Australia, America, Rio.... Fascinating to observe the show's appeal to so many differing cultures.
an episode from Season 4 of The Beverly Hillbillies...I wish they'd continue on releasing more seasons!
