We're among friends, right? I feel like this is a safe space, a place where we can talk freely, and unburden ourselves of our darkest secrets. I'm watching a Lifetime series. UnREAL, starring the always excellent Constance Zimmer (she killed on Boston Legal), is the story of the production of a "Bachelor" type reality show, and all of the manipulation that occurs to create good TV. It was co-created by someone who actually worked on the original moniker, and apparently gets right more than it gets wrong. This show is insane. It's also insidiously addictive. It features some of the most reprehensible, morally bankrupt characters ever to darken a TV screen. I'm picking my jaw off the floor, yelling at the TV at some of these people's actions. It's genius-level trash, but with people you really begin to care about, usually the "contestants". The only reason I became interested in the show is because season 3 features Caitlin FitzGerald, who was so amazing on Masters Of Sex.
Don't Trust The B In Apartment 23 After thoroughly enjoying Krysten Ritter as the ultra-melancholic Jessica Jones, it's fun to see her cut loose in this unfortunately short-lived series. And, of course, James Van Der Beek as "James Van Der Beek".
Over the weekend I watched a countdown show on Amazon Prime called "The 50 Best Horror Movies You've Never Seen," hosted by P.J. Soles of "Halloween/Rock N Roll High School" fame... and of course I was sitting there like "Seen it. Seen that too. Yup, seen that one," for about 2/3 of the list, haha.
The Beverly Hillbillies episode Jethro's First Love featuring a funny Barbara Nichols who used to also play Jack Benny's girlfriend Mildred Meyerhouser.
