I can't stand Fallon either. I'm a Conan guy. Which sounds funny when i say it out loud.

Colbert is the best daily political satirist for meat the moment. I enjoy tuning in for his bit at the desk now that Daily Show has lost Stewart.

It's on the History Channel. A panel show where they talk about History's biggest.... Topics have been political blunders, friend rivalries, bad medical practices, and dooned presidential campaigns, so far. The monologues are like a classic Craig monologue (pre Geoff). It's really fun. He has a lot of regulars from LLS on.

No kidding! That is a seriously great song, cool that Colbert is taking some chances with music choices. I've seen a couple of artists he described as "making their tv debut." I've also been exposed to some stuff that didn't impress me at all, but still appreciate the opportunity to have heard it.

I was sold on this guy 60 seconds into that song. And except for Colbert, I never would even have been aware of him.

That was one of the reasons I loved David Letterman so much. He loved music so he knew good music when he heard it, and he also gave quite a few folks their first network shot.

As for John Moreland. I now own his albums In The Throes (2013) and High On Tulsa Heat. (2015) .

Both excellent. This guy is the real deal...IMO of course ...:)

Advertising revenue may be calculated to more than total number of viewers or age demographics - also to education level, income, geographic location, etc. CBS may actually be making more money with Colbert than with Letterman with less viewers. But still, I think you have a point.

I really like Conan's show, but he often gets in a rut with the same jokes and sketches recycled. He is at his best when he does bits on location or tries something new...since he's able to think quickly on his feet.

I have recently removed Colbert from my DVR list and have instead subscribed to his YouTube channel. That way I can still watch the episode highlights without watching the full episodes.

I DVR his show and cherry pick usually based on guests. Sometimes I tune in att 11:35. Mr. Colbert is one of the best entertainers on television.

Did anyone see Sally Field give Stephen a full kiss? I didn't know she was such a shy person in real life. She graduated from high school and 6 months later she was on TV as Gidget.

They talked about it this morning on the CBS Early Show with him, him being a stud with all of the ladies. They gave him a choice, Helen Mirren, Jane Fonda, Sally Field. He said Helen Mirren, that there was just something electric with her.

I do the same, he still "brings it" with his sharp wit.
I cannot get into his house band/band leader at all for some reason. I don't see any real chemistry between them, and Jon Batiste adds nothing to the between guest banter. They have chops, but...I dunno <shrug>
