Probably the most boomer movie of the year. I saw it last night and really liked it, though the reviews are terrible. How a movie starring Donald Sutherland and Helen Mirren can be terrible is beyond me. But I appreciate slow-ish movies about people far outside the Hollywood demographic. (To wit, I also liked "Manglehorne" with Pacino and "Norman" with Richard Gere--similar small-scale tragedies.) Predictable? I would say that, given the main characters' conditions, there aren't many possible scenarios for them. That was kind of the point. The adult kids were stereotypes for sure, but they're incidental to the plot. Did anyone else see it, and what did you think?
