Something classy about the original award winning score by Elmer Bernstein.

Antoine Fuqua hasn't let me down, on three other occasions, that's in his favor.
After it opens, and others see it, and talk about it, it may become my fourth Blu ray from this director.

Why do I get the feeling that this is going to be The So-So Seven?

Because older, senior males are supposed to be bothered, whenever a Steve McQueen movie is remade. I'm not, because this can, in no way, effect the original. A testosterone filled Classic.

It cannot be any worse than any of the sequels. Hopefully.

    Trailer #2

Why do they feel they need to put hip hop music to this trailer? Does this mean the soundtrack will have it also?

Looks like more Young Guns in style than Unforgiven, Open Range, or True Grit. I like Young Guns (but not as much as the others), so there is still a chance.

Makes it sound more contemporary I suppose. Attracts the younger crowd.

Personally, although I have nothing against hip-hop or other contemporary music, I think the use of it in the two trailers takes away from the trailers rather than adding to them.

But I'll probably watch the movie anyway. :)

So if I'm a white male who hates this reboot does that make me a misandrist or just a guy who doesn't like the movie? :)

I haven't seen the original in years. I should rent it this weekend. I'll give this version a watch eventually as well though.

With you up to a point. I think Young Guns is a kinda fum action movie whereas I think the original Magnificent Seven is a minor genre classic - and I'm not being dismissive here, I just don't think it's in the same league as Shane or The Searchers or The Naked Spur etc. This looks like an action movie in Western guise, which is a pity, because I'd like to see Washington in something really good for a change.

I really liked Training Day. The Equalizer was entertaining. This one will seen but not until Comcast on demand or the Bly-ray comes out.
