  1. Good but a bit disappointing.

I liked the introduction of Kathleen Wilhoite to the show. She sounds like an interesting character and I hope she reemerges next season. (She looks the same as when I saw her in the 80s.) I have to say that for me, the psychic is not very interesting and I don't understand Jane's attraction for her-except as an opposite.

I don't find the 'Red John' storyline very compelling and found the 'cliffhanger' season finale less than 'cliff-hanging'.

    i agree,

enough with "red john". wrap it up and get a new continuing story line, they have milked it way too long.

The series needs to move on now :)

  6. I think the psychic who appeared in an episode from season one is a good foil for Jane particularly if you know the "message" he gave to him from his deceased wife in that episode. My theory--she's schziod and is Red John. It's out there I know but it would be kind of cool.

  7. You're kidding, right? Who cares if she's put on a bit of weight. She's still hot and, yep, curves CAN make the woman!

Just watched last night's (11-18) episode of the Mentalist on CBS. I had recorded it. What was the last line uttered by the killer who was laying on a hospital bed. He turned to Jane and said something. They cut to a closeup of Jane who is visibly shaken by the man's words. Fade to black, end of show. I have played the line back many times and can't understand what he said. Anyone know the answer?

It's from a poem by William Blake.

    William Blake - The Tyger

    Tyger, Tyger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
    What immortal hand or eye
    Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
    Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears
And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

    Tyger, Tyger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
    What immortal hand or eye
    Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

Thanks to all for the answer: "Tiger, tiger." And a search of the production co. Primrose Hill Productions web site listed this as the most frequently asked question on this week's episode. They confirm rjp's post as the recited poem by Red John as the source.

Lines from Blake's poem are also quoted earlier in the episode when Jane is resting in the motel room.

    I'm still liking this series.
Last nights' ep was pretty good. First new one in several weeks due to college B-ball.

Ummm, I think the "correct" curves are hips and bust, not belly. Am I wrong here? Are there guys who like a woman's belly curving outward?

Yes it was sad, but it is a topic too often ignored and vilified in America - euthanasia. It was pretty courageous for the writers to deal with this subject and I thought it was quite beautifully done.

    1) It's never courageous if you already know you can get away with it because you're the #1 show.

    2) Where better to broach the subject than a network whose primary viewing audience is headed there first...? :D

It allowed Heller to show Jane's character in a more serious compassionate mood.
