I was looking at the ratings for all the seasons so far...the first had the best ratings and there's been a decline ever since. Season 4 is not faring too well.

    I'm enjoying it though!

  2. Well one case being a crock doesn't mean they all are :)

The last scene of Jane and the ocean was good, but the episode tonight seemed more centered on Grace than Patrick. It didn't bother me though, and made me curious about the reasons for all that tension.

Is it my imagination or is she getting better looking every season of The Mentalist?

So i dont watch the show on a regular basis but apparently they brushed the events and consequences of the finale under the rug. True?

The show cannot survive on Grace alone (okay maybe it can), while they figure out what direction they should take the scripts, while losing forward momentum, acting suffering with pointless uninteresting whodunnit stories.

Bruno Heller better get it together soon and get the Jane sparkle back.

Any thoughts on last night's episode? IMO, it was not one of the better ones this season.

I did not know that. I obviously missed it the first time around.

So the whole over-drawn over-wrought Red John arc isnt over?

    Holy moly. Please........

Last season for this is my prediction.

I've watched this since the first season, but I seem to be losing interest with each passing season. So much so that I've watched less that half of this season's episodes.

Not trying to turn this into a political posting, but I found myself thinking that Jane was a bit preachy this week(and several times in the past) regarding guns. For instance, this week, while being held hostage, he made the comment along the lines of "great, more guns, just what we need" whenthe police showed up. I'm not basing my opinion on this lone comment, it seems like that type of thing shows up a lot in this show.

Maybe I'm being picky, or just growing tired of the smarmy attitude. I do like Cho and Rigsby...excellent casting for those 2.

Yes this is one show where the supporting cast is better/more interesting than the leads.

I have a theory about the last episode. I think Jane brought up Red John on purpose during the TV show he was on to set up the killer (what's his name?).

Hadn't thought of that, but I would whole-heartedly agree.

Guns have made Jane nervous from the beginning on the show. He hasn't had to use them much, but it has been mentioned. I do not take it as a political comment. It made sense to me that his character would become more uncomfortable with guns both inside and outside the building. Enjoyed the episode, though I missed it back in February, I believe.

Interesting episode / story last night. But, when are they going to get on with the Red John story line? Either Jane killed the right guy or he didn't. The writers seem to be trying to string us along with this, but it seems to be going nowhere. And will they ever let Van Pelt and Rigsby get together again?

I thought it was established that Red John was alive and murdering?

Hmmm......maybe I missed something. I never heard it stated definitively. In fact, I have heard Jane say Red John is dead. What to believe?

I'm pretty sure Jane has said that he didn't kill Red John.

  22. He said it because he didn't want people to know he killed somebody that wasn't Red John. Jane believes Red John is still alive.

Anyone see last night's episode? I thought it was one of the better ones this season. The "show" and the escape at the end was great.

    As Jane said "She's not a murderer. She's a manslaughter-er."
