Pardon me if we talked about this already, but I just found my "40 Timeless Hits of The Monkees" Lp set. What does this have thats "rare", anything? I havent had a chance to play it yet. thanks., Mikey
There was a thread on it recently. A couple of hard to find songs and great liner notes. BTW, the name of the album is Monkeemania.
At the time Monkeemania was released (early 80's?), there were several tracks that could be called rare, such as the first release of the live "Circle Sky", "Steam Engine", "Tema Dei Monkees", etc. Pretty much everything that was rare then has been since re-released from much better sources during Rhino's Monkees reissue projects. So, apart from a some TV and movie dialogue clips, there's not much left on the album that's still collectible. Still, a nice collection, if an obsolete one.
