    I've never seen that cover before, but there are some tracks on that album that are incredibly good "The Wall" for one.

    Some of these I have, some I don't. First the Shelagh McDonald set is sublime. Second my contribution to this obscure list is anything by the Dransfield brothers, Sweeney's Men, The Johnstons or Wizz Jones (including his band Lazy Farmer). Enjoy.

    thanks! I purchased the Shelagh McDonald Anthology..(first two albums)..but the others you mention are unknown to me. Will check them out.

    Hmm, vintage, if you like some of the progressive folk that came out of that era in the late 60s and early 70s, bands like Jethro Tull, find a copy of the debut First Utterance by Comus. Pretty amazing, dark lyrics like Sabbath, but still mostly acoustic, and very well played. Wild band.

    If you want something newer, one of my favorites from last year was the very nice Marika Hackman debut record from last year, We Slept At Last, really nice bit of English electro-folk, very nice record, one of my biggest listens last year, and listening again today, always sounds good.
