Maybe a Gort could change the thread title to include the PM-2 model. Those are the ones I'd be interested in as the PM-1s are out of my budget.

Not sure which model (but I'm guessing the PM-1's) are coming in for a review at www.theaudiobeat.com. Having reviewed the Audeze and HiFiMan headphones, I can't wait for the Oppo's to arrive.

Any estimate on how long until the review is posted?

Given that I haven't gotten them yet, my guess is, it'll be a little while. But I'll let you know when it runs.

TAB is one of my favourite audio web sites. Excellent reviews.

Will the PM-2 model come with any lambskin or leather parts? Hopefully not, so it can be vegetarian friendly unlike the PM-1.

Got a pair on the way and like you guys, can't wait to compare em to the HifiMan and Audeze phones. Very curious.

    Yes, hilarious!

  11. Keep in mind, too, that many headphones that are made with "protein leather" parts are not vegetarian-friendly either. That leather substitute is derived in part from egg whites.

I do hope they'll do vegan friendly versions, including the PM-1. I'm not vegan, and I'm not against the use of leather. I certainly understand those who are against the use of leather. I want vegans to have the opportunity to enjoy good sound as much as anyone else. Audeze offers vegan friendly versions. Usually that's not something that companies consider.

The difficulty with headphones is that the ear pads do affect the sound. How well the pads seal and how well they breathe affects the sound. Offering a leather free ear pad option that doesn't affect the desired sound could be a challenge.

Metralla, that's Jude. He runs Head-Fi, so that's why he has access to all sorts of headphones. Great guy too.

E-mail from Oppo that the PM-1's are on their way and should be here by 4/11 (at the latest). Can't wait. Let the review process begin.....

And if members out here can keep all others posted on how they sound, or better yet,
where they can be properly auditioned...

I'd love to see a comparison between Jude's collection and Tyll Hertsen's........ Wonder who has more? (And how they possibly have time to listen to them all.....)
