I was on another website that specializes only in metal (I'm sure you can guess which one). I rarely post on their forum, but I do read a lot there. The level of minutiae that they get into when discussing sub-sub-sub-sub genres was making my eyes glaze over. Examples include the difference between brutal technical death and melodic technical death, the difference between black death and death black, etc. If we ever started in examining metal's navel lint like that, Godshifter would probably grab an AK and take hostages.
I just played this album on my run earlier this week. It was the only thing that got me through four miles of hell. And yes, it is so very good.
I've been listening to a lot of Stoner: Reflections of a Floating World, by Elder Reflection, by CAVE OF SWIMMERS My Sleeping Karma - mysleepingkarma.de ...does that count?
AC/DC -Blow Up Your Video (1988) I know it isn't new, but this album doesn't get thought of much these days, but it's a lot of fun. It is chuck full of hooks, too! First three songs (Heatseeker, That's the Way I Wanna Rock 'n' Roll, and Meanstreak) are sensational and Two's Up is another real winner. I was just listening to it, and I just had to share.
Adrenaline Mob: Somebody here please educate me. I has seen the name, but knew nothing about them. Saw the bass player died in an accident just outside my hometown, so I youtubed them. I haven't seen this level of hateful comments this side of Nickelback. (Nickelback deserves it, BTW) there is enough cheese in this video to feed the children of africa douche metal. Just...really having trouble taking him seriously with that fedora. Mid-life crisis band stepdad metal If I wanted to watch middle-aged overweight men pretend to be tough, I'd go stand in the mirror and flex. why the * does he act like a retarded rapper? dude?? I wish Russell would focus on Symphony X instead of this crap ass music. Look up the word generic in the dictionary and it's just a picture of Adrenaline Mob. Portnoy left Dream Theater FOR THIS... So basically, these extremely talented musicians chose to be a Drowning Pool knock off? Lol. That is a whole lot of hate. Do they deserve it?
I was taking an aimless stroll through post-Bon AC/DC last week. Mostly because I've always been neglectful of everything after Flick of the Switch, which is a fine album but afterward was when I bailed. I figured there had to be some gems scattered about and I was floored by this song. Short and seeming to be tossed on, nonetheless I had it on unintended repeat for an hour. Helped certainly by use of a very fine vinyl rip. It really opened my ears to how sometimes the CD just isn't right. Though that is a wascally wabbit hole of discussion I'm not inviting.
No they don't, no band does be they Nickelback, Adrenaline Mob or whoever. Don't like a band? Don't listen to them, it really is that simple. Life is too short for douchbaggery.
Wanna tell you bout the girl I love...My she looks so fine... Seriously though I gotta check these guys out further! I'm so over the band copycat thing issue that I used to have and some people have now. My stance now is I like bands that sound like bands I like.
Got to get it on, from the still of the night. But you're gettin' it wrong, you know it ain't right. If my other choices are Stone Sour and Adrenaline Mob, yeah gimme Greta anytime. I'll find a place for them between the alpha and the omega.
I remember when that album came out - it was viewed as a comeback for them by most fans that I knew at the time. The previous couple of albums had caused some people to bail on them but this one brought them back. I didn't bail (never will) but I thought both Flick of the Switch and Fly on the Wall were dreadful (still do).
Angus is the riff that will never die. He needs to record a solo album. No vocals, no drums, no bass; just 30-40 mins of him riffing....
I'd probably get a headache listening to that, but anything he cares to release I will buy! I love his guitar playing. I hope he keeps going as AC/DC, I don't care who else is still in the band, whether it be Axl, Sammy Hagar, or some unknown singer, I want to hear what Angus can come up with next.
To anyone as well -Are there any other bands today that are kinda replicating that Zeppelin thing besides these guys? I'm so out of touch with newer hard rock.
