I think it should be obvious that you don't need to be angry to enjoy metal, but that might be more of your tongue-in-cheek humor. The 90s was when alternative took over both the rock and the metal mainstreams (even though it's strange to think of metal as having a mainstream). Just as alternative metal took over the charts from glam; extreme displaced thrash's dominance in the underground. For those who don't like alternative metal or extreme metal (or both), I'd imagine that the 90s were a rough time. It was easier to follow metal when we still had such clearly defined national and regional scenes. Now with the internet, do we have them any more? Or are they over now before a geezer like me can find out about them?
One of the better performance I've seen seen from Slayer lite. Still doesn't hold hold a candle to them with Lombardo and Hanneman.
In what World? Bostaph is technically very good but his drumming is sterile, no soul, no groove. He'll always be Lombardo's back up. Always.
... In this one? Is that a trick question? And he absolutely grooves on Vices, so I'm not quite sure what you mean.
I'm not going to put down Bostaph. The guy is very good. I just can't justify him being on Lombardo's level. Not even close.
He doesnt have to be on Lombardo's level, he needs to be on whatever level he plays best at. To me that is like people that got stuck Martin Lopez being a better drummer then Axe in Opeth so Axe was no good.
Athough Axe is in an a viable version of Opeth while Bostaph will always be in a B or C level version of Slayer.
40 Years ago these trouble makers land on US shores for their first show in North America opening for CDN band MOXY. 40 Years Ago: AC/DC Play Their First U.S. Show
Slayer, on what I assume is regular TV? You jammy sods. See, this is why the USofA needs to reverse-colonise...
Heeeey, don't kick the cousins when they're down. Things are blissfully boring, delightfully dull up here so don't start any cross border stuff. Besides, they'll eventually put more than two teams on the field, ending their second civil war. I doubt I'd be able to do 10 between 1970-78. I might be able to do 30. This might appeal to some of you chaps. I thought it pleasant.
Any fans of Accept? They bring out their new album 'The Rise of Chaos' on the 4th. The last three have been very good in my opinion. Unfortunately the first two tracks released from this new album are a bit uninspiring. Not sure whether to order the new album without hearing more. Has anyone heard the new album yet and if so what did you think of it?
Fans of Fu Manchu! Their new vinyl re-issue of California Crossing is amazing! Fantastic pressing, and the remaster sounds phenomenal. If you have a sub-woofer and can do 2.1, this is the album to do it with!
