Good top 10 lists in new issue of Metal Hammer - the 90s issue: guide to the craziest decade in metal.
mine too! although last time I had one supposed to deliver on release date I got it the day before...so it might be waiting for me at home today.
I picked up the new Accept disc on my way home from work last night. Yay for indie record shops who put the week's new releases out a day early! (haha) ... I haven't had time to listen to it all the way thru yet but what I've heard thus far sounds pretty bad-ass. If you liked the previous three discs, you should dig this one too. They're not re-inventing the wheel by any means but it's good ol'fashioned meat n' potatoes metal.
I decided to buy it and it arrived today. I agree that whilst not re-inventing the wheel its a solid heavy metal album !! I like the cover art as well which is a bonus. Thanks for your comments.
L.A. Guns has a new album coming out in October with original singer Phil Lewis and guitarist Traci Guns. Their first two albums, S/T and Cocked & Loaded continue to this day to be favorites of mine. I know, it's just sleazy cock rock, but gosh darn it I really like it. In fact, as a young man I traveled several times at no small distance and at much cost to see the band, always at some small hole-in-wall club. As I get older, I sometimes find myself living life looking in the rearview mirror. Looking back at the promised never fulfilled, dreams never realized. Sometimes I feel bad for Traci Guns. If he had just made a few different decisions, would he have been playing to sold out arenas with GNR instead of some sh!tty biker bar on the bad side of town? Perhaps the variables are too great to even consider such possibilities. Anyway, as with many videos, the song sounds a lot better if I'm not watching...

Love the new Accept! Nothing new but Wolf is on fire as usual. Some of the lyrics are silly but who cares? Mark still nails them. I've heard bad things about Koolaid but I absolutely love it! Best song on the album IMO. Only song that makes me want to skip it is Hole in the Head. Not sure where they were going there but it's a bit too silly to even enjoy.
received mine yesterdays mail, along with new mr. big. hey it was 3 bucks shipped,....why not new accept is great, last 3 have been rock solid, they definitely made a lasting comeback. spinning tomorrow.
Question is, do ye bag it ont'tiny silver slither or 3' 10" vinyl, recorded at 1/8th speed with fragments of Herman Frank's fibula in the runout wax?
Any Lizzy Borden fans? They are super underrated in my book - Master of Disguise is genius. I even thought their last album, Appointment with Death (2007), was very strong, especially after the partial misstep of Deal with the Devil.
pretty big fan of them. there are working on a new album. did you ever check out the album they released without the makeup and theatrics under a different band name?
Accept The Rise of Chaos I'm not feeling it. It reminds me a lot of Russian Roulette. You had a string of great discs then they run out of steam with something rather mediocre.
Russian Roulette has two of my favorite Accept tracks on it: TV War and Heaven Is Hell but also features two of their worst in Monsterman and Man Enough To Cry. It's a very hit or miss disc but it immediately came to mind listening to The Rise of Chaos
