Thanks for your report! So this version of "Synchronicity" as digital download is available only in the MFiT form, am I right?

This could be very old news, but Ascenseur pour l'échafaud from Miles Davis is MfiT. Also Sorcerer, added just last week.

Here in Germany, there is a MFiT Version with Copyright 2016 and a non MFiT Version with Copyright 2003.

Same here in Italy. I was thinking about a 44 kHz 16 bit or more download. Anyway, I bought the MFiT version.
Thanks again for the heads up!

Well, the MFiT Version is 44 kHz, 16 bit Audio :)
There is a uncompressed Download on Qobuz (13,99€), wich is the 2003 Remaster, but no higher Resolution.

Sorry, I was meaning uncompressed! :o
I think (but not 100% sure) that Qobuz download, despite of the same 2003 Remaster indication, is a different version with a lower DR. I have a CD with 2003 copyright:

I believe this and Qobuz download match each other.

    Togo,

Thanks for the list and the research. I haven't dug into MFiT in a long time; moved to lossless many years ago and haven't looked back. I generally purchase from HDtracks these days but don't like how difficult it is to track down the mastering sources of their content. I would love to see Apple offer lossless if for nothing beyond knowing the mastering (when the result is better than older masters). I had no idea that they were maintaining encoding quality. Very cool.

Here's a quick tip: rather than opening all of your music in Vox to determine bitrate, you can use a tool called `exiftool` to read the metadata (you can google it for an installer), and then scan your entire media library at once with something like this command, or just one artist album at a time so you don't generate a ton of data if you don't want to. Something like this (just paste everything after the first $ in your Mac terminal after you've changed directories to the one you want to scan):

    ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music$ SIFS=$IFS; IFS=$(echo -en "\n\b"); for files in `find . -type f -name "*.m4a"`; do echo -n "$files: "; exiftool -audiobitspersample $files | awk -F':' '{print $2"bit"}'; done; IFS=$SIFS

...assuming that MFiT tracks are wrapped as .m4a files. That will print out the bitrates for all of your m4a tracks in this format:

    ./Metallica/2017_10_24 London, GBR [24_48]/1-01 Hardwired.m4a: 16bit
    ./Grateful Dead/30 Trips - Dream Bowl, Vallejo, CA - 1969-02-22 [24_48]/1-04 Cryptical Envelopment _.m4a: 24bit
    ./R.E.M_/Out of Time [25th Anniversary Edition]/1-01 Radio Song [24_96].m4a: 24bit
    ./Dead Can Dance/Seattle - 2005-09-17/1-03 Compassion.m4a: 16bit

...and actually running the above I realized I had Metallica's 2017 London show mislabeled in iTunes as 24/48. So thanks for the prompt to check! :p

Just got Appetite For Destruction (already had the cd from Mobile Fidelity) and I must say it plays very well! Sounds better than the cd and also for a great price..

If not already posted: Poison albums 'Open Up and Say ahh...' & 'Look What The Cat Dragged In' are MFIT (in the UK at least) older and previous anniversary editions still to be found on iTunes though.

Bit late and may have been mentioned in June when it was released on vinyl, but just noticed that the Yes "The Steven Wilson Remixes" set is now available in MFiT on iTunes/Apple Music and on Qobuz/HDTracks in 24/96 Hi-Res. Had a quick listen to the Yes Album and Siberian Khatru. It all sounds very good to me and at a very reasonable price for the set too. :)

In terms of new music, can really recommend the new album by The Internet which has a distinctive 70's Disco/funk flavour, but sounds really fresh and new...it's called "Hive Mind" and is of course, MFiT.

This might be off topic.. Can't remember if asked already.. But I don't understand why I can't get Pink Floyd P.U.L.S.E or Pink Floyd Delicate Sound of Thunder in MFiT when they just got new release with new mix on LP.. And I haven't heard anything/rumours about if anything going to happen outside the LP release.. Anyone had any info?

Been quiet on these boards, as well as iTunes adding new MFiT content. Well, Quiet Riot, Metal Health, is now MFiT. So Bang Your Heads, Metal Health will drive you mad.

The new Mogwai album "Kin" is out now in MFiT format. It's another soundtrack album (they've done a few now).

The latest Blood Orange album "Negro Swan" is also Mastered for iTunes.
