I also hear a bit of Erkin Koray in their sound but their band name doesn't seem appropriate.

This is the debut release (EP) from the band I'm promoting; 'The Jim Mitchells' (Sydney)
From 2016. It's called "Planet Absorbed"

Oh good heavens I am so so sorry to hear this. What a terrible shock and loss. Thanks for posting.

Thank you. She was so talented and I miss her everyday. My band backed her up on her first album and I was co-writing her new album before she passed.

We are planning on releasing one of the songs she wrote before her passing. It’s called “Alabama Sky Night.” We wrote it while visiting her parents in Alabama in the summer of 2016.

In December of 2017, I visited Alabama with my step kids and we recorded the song in an awesome studio in Tuscaloosa. Her daughter sang, I played guitar, her son played drums and her brother played bass.

We can’t wait to release the first of many of her new songs.

I really appreciate everyone here on the forum liking my post about my wife and her music.

I hope people take a few minutes and listen to her wonderful talent.

Thanks to everyone here on the forum!

So many jazz artists are underappreciated. The New Orleans Swamp Donkeys are a current obsession:

Pretty sure I bought this LP off a review in the '80s. Another listen will now be required ...

I downloaded a freebie of Shawn William Clarke's Young and In Love... and the female duet vocals sound like her.

♫ Topaz - Shawn William Clarke. Listen @cdbaby

The Architects (from KC - not England) -- straight ahead rock and roll that deserves a wider audience. All of the albums are great, well worth a listen.

Yanka Dyagileva, the only female artist to come out of the Siberian punk scene of the 1980s. Died by apparent suicide in 1991, never formally released a record in her lifetime, but left behind a slew of concert recordings, unreleased/samizdat-spread lo-fi DIY studio cassettes, and some poetry. She remains a bit of a cult hero in Russia, and has gotten some traction in the US (there's a cover record by Alina Simone), but not to the degree she should. I'd love to see someone like Numero Group do a really nice, sympathetic box set or something.

We're gonna allow double/triple-dipping. I know Joan Osborne is not unknown; but I feel like she's been forgotten. She's still making awesome music like this:
