'The Path' - new Hulu show

This could be interesting (if handled well). For fans of Breaking Bad, the big draw is Aaron Paul, but for me it's also Michelle Monaghan.

Also starring is Hugh Dancy who plays as a charming, de-facto head of a controversial movement called Meyerism. Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan play a married couple involved with the group (him by choice, her by birth) as the show explores issues of relationships and power.

Starts March 30.

Has anyone watched? Is it worth a look? I'm interested due to the cast, but I'm a little turned off by the subject matter...

 

would love to watch, but i won't pay for HULU to watch one show.

i think all of these offshoot networks and pay services are just stretching the market too thin, you can't subscribe to them all, not only would it be expensive, there wouldn't be enough time in the day to watch them all.

 

Anyone watching this? It's surprisingly good. One more episode to go, I hope they renew it.

Just finished season 2. It certainly has its flaws but it's entertaining enough. I quite like it.

 

It was enjoyable for those two seasons, but somehow I feel that it underachieved a bit, given the strong topic and strong actors. I just cannot put my finger on it ...... one thing I really do not enjoy is the FBI mole subplot, I find it too stereotype, too lenghty and not really getting somewhere - maybe next season, who knows ?

The hippie-community-goes-fascist/supremacist angle is great though.

BB was somehow "cool" from Ep1 on and just got better and better ........ "Path" just goes on but there are no real "highpoints" or memorable, almost genre changing, moments of greatness.

 

It's quite watchable but predictable, far fetched & soap opera-ish at times.

 

Do you agree, that a worthy "Antagonist" is missing too, somehow ?

 

I like the Cal Roberts character but the writing for his character is so inconsistent, you wonder how he ever became a leader. I'll keep watching the show as-is though & save my nitpicking for The Walking Dead.

Two episodes into season three. So far I'm not impressed.

 

I'd say The Path is 5.5/10. The pacing is not very good, the story seems to go in circles and the characters tend to show up every 5 minutes at each other doorsteps to yell at each other.

 

Not the path I want to walk down by the looks of it.
