To start Things off here is my ROBERTS 1725-8L III Open Reel
8-track in the side?
mine and the rest of my little arsenal. 2 teacs; X1000R & X2000R.
Thought this might be a funny little addition, my StarFire Mini open Reel
Greetings Mr Phelps...
Don't be alarmed, this will not self destruct in 10 seconds....3...2...1..
I have the Pioneer in Steve's post. Wish I had some of the other stuff he has
Here is my Teac X1000R while I was putting it back together after veneering the case in rosewood. Just needed to add the feet.
Here is another one in my SAE rack for parties.
WOW, *Makes grabby hands*
Sadly, the Revox A-77 died of old age and is gone, but the Sony TC-850 and the Akai 4000ds are still up to snuff.
I have these two
several pictures of obsolete decks here http://www.obsoletemedia.com/tapedecks/
This is probably the dumbest question I ever asked on here but here it goes...I assume people use these to play music on but did they release music on reel to reel in the past or what?
Yes, they did at one time.
Where do you guys find blank tape these days? I haven't owned a R2R in years. Always loved them though.
Here's a peek at my conversion machine:
Sure. To see some scans of some rare quadraphonic reel boxes, click HERE to go to the QQ Quad Reel Gallery. I haven't updated it in a while, my bad!
I'll take a pic of mine when I get my camera back in a couple of days.
BTW, I got it with a few reels of vintage blank Scotch tape. Is it worth something? I mean could I record on it?
Still providing good service since early 80's!!....
They still do, if you have lots of $$$ and the right machine. Click here.
How about a dumber question: I have no recorded music on reel to reel, so why would I want one now? (I have a chance to pick up a freebie but haven't...)
