Here's my new TT at home: a Pro-Ject RPM 6.2 Evolution, with an Ortofon Black Quintet stylus. A huge improvement compared to my previous one, a Pro-Ject Debut III!

Actually given the price on the used market of the Micro Seiki RY5000 controller it was very reasonable. The controller box was machined from new, I already owned the Phoenix Engineering Tach and PSU. The issue was sourcing an AC motor that was good enough and then shoe-horning all the kit into the Controller body. If you have interest contact me and i'll put you in contact with Mirko - his work is exemplary ...just takes time.

Nice but you must mean 9.2 and not 6.2.

It's been a while since I put mine on here. Only recent change has been a new cart - Benz Glider:

    Dear "Utahusker"

I hope i don't embarrass you with this question.
I am the owner of a AVID Diva I

It is possible to buy a limited SP update for this older tabel, only the 2 belt driver, (not the heavier platter) with hopefully will give better performance on speed aberrations.

The point is, the avid never was convincing (wow and flutter) with e.g. classic piano music, maybe because I have a krell ksa50 50 Watt class A which needs a lot of current. Could you give me an idea what the upgrade could do, i am considering a no break (spu for computers) to stabilize the voltage/current /frequency as well.

Maybe I am spoiled by a lot of streaming of HD files (lumin) , but during visits to friends I am often struck by the possible quality of vinyl spinning and I still do have a lot of records.

My ears seem to be sensitive for distortion ( Quad Acoustats Carvers) and apparently wow and flutter, I care less about colourization and non linearity.

Or should I switch to a vintage quartz direct drive

When I go camping, I always bring a few records, a pencil, a piece of paper and a pin.

My wife can spin my pencil just right.

There are some GORGEOUS turntables in here! If I may, please allow me to introduce you to my new friend, the TW Acustics Raven AC with two 10.5 tonearms and a Miyajima Zero mono cart and Ortofon A-95 stereo cart.
