I've only recently upgraded my turn table to the MT10 and I cannot be more pleased side note: the Men 220 was worth every penny for those on the fence about it. After reading many positive reviews online I decided to take the plunge and purchase it hoping it would solve several issues was hearing - it fixed every single complaint I had prior to adding the Men220 to my system.
McIntosh gear = absolutely beautiful. Colour me envious. How long does it take to get that colossal platter up to speed?!
When you were out and about in the 1920's, you never went without your Mikiphone pocket record player
I just got a great deal on this a few weeks ago. Loving the heck out of it. Avid Sequel Sp SME 309 arm Lyra Delos Cartridge Nordost Frey 2 tonearm cable. I never thought I'd have a table like this. The deal was crazy good and I couldn't pass it up. It's taken my vinyl listening to another level that I'd never imagined.
The Mikiphone (1926) was 4.5 inches diameter, folded. Definitely the first compact disc player. They currently go for about $1,000 to $1,600, making them high end on a pound for pound basis Bottom with directions Top, folded
I was curious, so I did some googling. The humpback was only made during 1922, and it retailed for $200 (= $2916.49 in 2016).
Seems like incomplete info, as there are both gold-plated models (real gold) and pewter (or some type of silver color). I have seen both. The hump was also on both uprights and consoles, though I suppose the term is best applied to the console. My model is gold. I am not an expert, but I'm not so sure that the Victrola was made in only "flat top" after 1923.
It might be good quality, but I find such glowing lights on each component completely at odds with my enjoyment of music. There is not enough black tape in the world to solve that problem
Some SERIOUS freaking gear in this thread! Makes me feel like i'm kinda "normal" now. Only sh.tv forums could do it.
