"The Polka King" on Netflix with Jack Black

Good old Jack Black is so good at a creating likable characters and making you smile, it's a shame that this polka has no rhythm. I loved seeing Jack Black do a polka number on Colbert, so I had some hopes for this movie. But it's too simple of a story and doesn't really take off.

 

Yeah, not a great movie, but watchable.

 

I saw the Colbert performance and thought it was pretty funny, but I don't think it could sustain an entire movie. Besides, didn't the Schmenge Bros already cover this angle?

 

Yeah, I made it all the way through. I never finished his other character study, "Bernie."
