Nope. Producer decides what works best for the arrangement. Swallows produce.

All the swallow did was provide the technical means for the music to happen. Engineer. ;)

Deal! And the lion that subsequently ate the individual in question gets credit as the world's first manager.

That may have been the original, but what if he prefers "Froderic Froncizek Fronkensteen Chopin"?

Of course you can and they may also be the "best" for you.
I just want to end these endless fruitless topics about "who is the best artist". While history has given the answer. If the work of an artist has survived hundreds of years, it is the highest an artist can reach.

No doubt about the quality of his work, he is definitely one of the "best". But it should be considered that unlike Mozart Bach was nearly unknown in his lifetimes.
It was around 1829 (79 years after his death) when his music was re-discovered and became widely popular.
Also Bach was not a touring artist like Mozart, who really did the same as today's artists do, travelling from place to place.

if we are going back further lets consider Purcell, take a look at this and no matter how hard you are if you are not moved by it from about 1.12 in you probably are dead

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks Mozart over-rated. He was a genius, no doubt, but he was born with some unique freak like talent and did not have to work as hard at it as others ( if that makes any sense, it kind of spewed out of him and he could hear something once and commit it to memory - Amadeus is correct in that respect - he did it with the Miserere when he heard it at the Vatican, he was basically a freak of nature ) , only in his later years do we see something darker and a bit more special from him

yes I could happily skip the classical period so long as we can include the bridge between the classical & Romantics, Beethoven, the daddy of everything that came after....

BTW I believe Beethoven himself revered Mozart most until, towards the end of his life when this changed, and this may surprise some, but not me.......he moved toward Handel...

You might happily skip the Classical period, but I can't. Mozart is in there, and he's freaking great. Gotta let him out to play in my house, most definitely.
And where would I be without at least an occasional Haydn string quartet? Nowhere, that's where.

For those 2 alone, you can't skip the Classical. You can't. You just can't. :agree:

sadly those two dominate the Classical period and are the very reason i have to skip it. There is no question of their brilliance but I find strong motion in the Baroque and the Romantics that is often absent from those two, with the exception of Mozart's late period which is largely quite different to his main body of work.

Now, let's not have that silliness here!

*Solitaire1 takes the General out of the thread.*

Sorry for that unwelcome interruption. I'll add a name to the mix: Erik Satie. While his music hasn't been around as long as the others, he has produced some memorable music.

I wonder what kind of music Mozart would have created if he had access to modern instruments and recording technology? Would he have produced music so loud that it would have made the group Disaster Area green with envy?
