She posted this three weeks ago, no playing along to records, her doing various drum improvisations.

If you watch it, I promise it will be the most joyous 9 minutes or so you spend all day.

She's great! She shows a lot of enthusiasm and a touch of hamming it up.

Yeah her latest is an 11-minute tutorial on hi-hats. She knows her chosen instrument well.

Hamming it up is a necessary component of quality drumming.

    OK, that does it.

I hereby publicly challenge Yoyoka to perform Larks' Tongues In Aspic.

Either Part 1 or Part 4 will be acceptable.

She or somebody in her name is active on Twitter, throw down the challenge and see what happens.

I so hope she doesn't get tired of this by age 15.

Good idea, but unfortunately I refuse to enter the cesspool at Twitter, or FB.

Nonetheless, I'm confident there are lotsa participants there urging her to go abstruse.

I agree, though, I hope she doesn't get run ragged.

    She sure looks plenty cheerful!

what amazes me is there are 35 dislikes on this video...
what kind of twisted heart one must've have to hit the 'dislike' button on this little girl playing her hearts out with such joy
    that sickens me :shake:

I've seen full grown male drummers who don't play with that much power and control.

Here's the latest ... 20 minutes of her playing (not along to records) ... including cajon plus she's picking up how to play the xylophone Ellen DeGeneres gave her. :)

that Porcaro shuffle is always very difficult...much more so than non-musician listeners realize :righton:

Yes she's actually struggling a bit more than usual getting this one dialed in although she's doing it quite well. She's not playing to the camera, she's really concentrating.

I really like her tackle on Manu Katché's drumming style:

And just to think she was only 9 years old when she recorded it!
