What are the correct words?
always sounded very clear to me that he says 'girl reaction'
def. sounds to me that he is singing girlie action at least once or twice but maybe he just swallowed a syllable, since both means the same - if a girl just lays flat he can't get no ...
I always heard girlie action until ::gasp:: I heard it played back on high end equipment. Then it was quite clearly girl reaction.
I always thought it was 'girlie action'. I guess I'm not audiophile enough.
Though funnily enough, there's a PR company called "Girlie Action"...
It's indeed,"Girl Reaction"..Funny thing, when Radio Stations removed the word "Make" from the 45 for obvious (To them, not us!) reasons,The Stones did it "Live" with the"Bleep" done by Jagger, just to show how stupid those programmers were!
On most later versions he sings Girlie Action - just tried the version on Big Hits High Tides..
first he goes on about the guy on the radio supposed to "fire my imagination",
next on the telly "but he doesn't smoke the same cigarettes as me"
that's what I say
I Can't get no Girlie Action but I try try try..that's what I say.
slightly different version
from OUT OF OUR HEADS
Now LIVE Flashpoint :
Girl E action
only difference he sings ..on the telly telling me how white my shirts can be, but he can't be a man cause he doesn't smoke same cigarettes than me.. (not as me)
Finally from the horse mouth SINGLES 1965 CD-Single
hear those guitar weaves.. ! ...about some useless information supposed to fire my imagination..try try try
watching my tv and a man comes on and tells me how white my shirts could be..hey hey hey that is what I say
chorus then girlie action/girl reaction - hardest to decide..' tryin to meet a girl seems I am on a loosing streak...',,so this time it is more of a Blues cry that he can't get laid often enough..not the later interpretation of girl's reaction while doing it..
Version by Otis Redding now (wonder what he sings..)
can't get me no ...
'I can try but get me no...hope I have some girl reaction'... but for the most part he mumbles stuff...
another original coming up---thanks to my iTunes folder...from ROLLED GOLD - def. a later take...
Girlie Action 100 % CLEAR
Once before Satisfaction went number one in the US it was about any Girl Reactio. Next came Superstar status after Break through he was ashamed of admitting in song being a loser and changes the meaning around by using Girlie Action and provoke some serious PR / Media fan reaction..lol
Clever Mick Jagger
My whole life I thought girlie action.
Singles version is 3.43
the album versions later on are 1 second longer
the time he needs to change pronounciation from Girl Reactio to Girlie Action.
All later album versions are 3.44
Sounds like "girl reaction" to me, and Jagger denied that it was "girlie action" in 1966, according to this site: "Girlie action was really girl reaction."
It never even occurred to me that it could be "girlie action." Always heard "girl reaction."
I always thought it was 'girlie action'!
I've always heard "Girl Reaction", but I can see how it's a bit hard to understand.
I always heard can't get laid.
"Girlie action was really girl reaction. The dirtiest line in Satisfaction they don't understand, see? It's about You better come back next week cause you see I'm on a losing streak. But (people) don't get that. It's just life. That's really what happens to girls. Why shouldn't people write about it?"
- Mick Jagger, 1966
I guess he means that the girl is having her period.
"I told you it wasn't provolone!"
Or maybe he just couldn't get it up.
Well then, I guess that settles it.
But the GIRL says the "losing streak" comment...
Never even considered the phrase "girlie action" as a possibility.
"Blessed are the cheesemakers? What's so special about them?"
Separate names with a comma.
