Thanks for posting that clip. I just loved both the Ronettes & The Beach Boys & to see 2 of the artists together was lovely. I bought the Ronettes singles back in the 60s & just loved them. A little while back I remixed a few Ronettes songs into stereo. From what I have heard it seems the backing group, the wrecking crew, were only recorded in mono so I have tried to create a stereo track of the backing group. I have then mixed in the lead vocal, backing vocals & hand claps. I have also tried to keep as close to the original mono single as I could.

Here is my 'stereo' remix of 'Be my Baby'. I hope you enjoy it?

The opposite. They lost the lawsuit and did not get the masters. I believe the judge basically said, "this is a very bad contract, but unfortunately, you signed it."

Wow! Great photo! I really, really love the Ronettes -- I think several of their records are among the greatest Spector productions ever.

I've heard "The Year 2000" and it's nothing special, and pretty boring to be honest. Anyone one know if the flip side is any better?

Apparently they (The Ronettes, Darlene Love and Fanita James) are suing again for $150,000 and $1,000,000

Cher should sue too: apart from being Bonnie Jo Mason, she too was a Ronette, a Crystal, a Blue Jean and gosh-dang a Righteous Sister.

As Phil says: "You don't hear Tina whining do you?"

 Cher probably has way more $ than Phil ...

  9. That's a hilarious quote, and makes a valuable point.

It sure did: here it is. The A-side was getting major play in NY, and then all of a sudden the Bonnie Tyler version showed up and Ronnie was saying goodbye to Hollywood again.

How do you get all these pictures in such high resolution?

  14. Rocketstail

They are all scanned at 1200 dpi (super overkill ), the files are about 10 to 40 MB. Then they are "tweeked" in iPhoto and then scaled down in Automator. Sometimes the colours don't come out exactly right
I collect promo photos and have a lot of photos.
But hey, we love the Ronettes, right? :righton:

For the Colpix stuff, there was a cd called "The Colpix & Buddah Years" which seems to be the one to go for. It's not on amazon though (i'm pretty sure it used to be).

For the Spector stuff, The newest release is the most highly regarded:
    http://www.amazon.com/Be-My-Baby-Ve...=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1332842368&sr=1-1

Or if you want the Spector stuff in stereo with a few colpix tracks thrown in, there's "The Ultimate Collection": http://www.amazon.com/The-Ronettes-...=sr_1_3?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1332842368&sr=1-3

    Dunno about the solo stuff.

Am now watching a thing on the crime investigation network on Spector. It had an interview with Nedra of the ronettes, and i swear, i didn't recognise her untill it showed her name.

She mentioned something about when they went to the uk, Phil decided to use a high pitched voice, and one time in a restaraunt, he was bullied, then he took the bullies out back, showed them a gun, and bodyguards.

Appears to be an acetate from February 1971:

An unreleased Ronnie Spector song, AKA "Lovely La-De-Day".

    Participants:
    + Ronnie Spector: lead vocals
    Possibly one or more of the following;
    + George Harrison: acoustic guitar
    + Jim Gordon: drums
    + Leon Russell: keyboards
    + Klaus Voormann: bass
    + Carl Radle: bass
    + Ringo Starr: percussion
    + Phil Spector: keyboards

Producers: Phil Spector & (probably) George Harrison.

Yes, while visiting in 2006, we were very excited about our tickets to Ronnie Spector at BB Kings. Unfortunately we didn't get there early enough to score a table. I thought Ronnie sounded fine, but we were miserable being jossled and trying to look over shoulders. Really a downer.

I prefer the Supremes slightly over them as the premiere 60s girl group, however they were a great group in their own right

I rounded up the images that I could find of The Ronettes on their 2nd tour with The Beatles in 1966 with Ronnie's cousin Elaine Mayes. They are backed up by The Remains. There are supposedly 2 more pics in Barry Tashians book "Ticket To Ride" but I don't have that book.

The last pic is from December 1966 at a club, Action House Disco in Long Island NY but it is difficult to tell who the members are exactly.
