I will definitely defer to you on the geography. :)

I'd ask Eric myself about it, but he'd surely never give me a straight answer.

That's exactly how I bought mine... 2 days before the TV show with only the cover to entice me.
IIRC, the Lennon/McCartney credits came years later after some litigation was threatened.

McCartney was asked about it, and he said, "this is out of my hands -- those decisions were made by the publisher, not by me or John." I know that Neil Innes is still very irritated at losing a big portion of the Rutles publishing income to Sony/ATV.

Hey! I just thought of something!

The other day, I wrote "PUNK FLOYD" on a Pink Floyd thread here, and, it dawned on me!
The way "PUNK FLOYD" is written, in that 'hand-written' way, looks a little too much like the writing for "The Wall"!!!
    Conicedence?....

Absolutely! A loving and winkingly accurate parody of all things Beatles. Just don't accidentally watch the "sequel" from a few years ago...

Depends....like most things from the '70's', it may have lost a lot of its' appeal....
Stuff that would get groans now, were shocking 'knee-slapper's', back then, you know?

Guess I’m buying for the EP. Still have my beloved original LP. Good God, I love all these releases coming out, but must everything I want have to be released in the 4th quarter this year? LOL. I’m already broke from boxset purchases, so I guess I’ll be mo broke now. Love the Rutles.

Was the film originally in 50fps or 60fps?

Shot and edited on film except for "Hold My Hand" and "Love Life" then transferred to video so captions and titles could be added. As for PAL or NTSC, couldn't tell you.

Does the latest Blu-Ray release have smoothness and fluidness for the videotape portions ("Hold My Hand" and "Love Life")?

That scene is one of my favorite comedy scene of all time. Perfect in both concept and execution.

Yes. They're also the only 4x3 bits. (I will add the 16x9 crop isn't really an issue.)

Too bad they couldn't get the Beatles videos right, though. All the 50fps PAL Music Videos butchered.

I'm thinking of getting the DVD but I need advice. What did the 30th Anniversary edition have on it that the previous one didn't?

I've the VHS and DVD. I read that they botched the blu-ray release. Bummer.

Our host says he dislikes the CD mastering of the first Rutles album. I genuinely want to hear a release done by Steve. Audiophile Rutles would be awesome.

Well, it's the same mono/stereo hybrid as before and except for the credits and the segments mentioned above, the movie has been cropped to 16x9. However, to me the latter isn't really an issue as the movie may have been protected for future theatrical distribution.
