Can't hurt, it always seemed fast enough to me.

Curious, what are you running for a server ? How much memory ?

 

Beta mode here- undecided at this time.

Seams similar - need more time to evaluate any improvement.

 

Does this mean that the required donation goal has been met?? If not perhaps a notice should be made to emphasize that donations are still needed.

 

I notice no benefits, because the bottleneck is the wifi-speed etc.

 

In 10 minutes at 1:10 PM PST everyone online do a forum search on "Beatles". Can the new server handle that? Let's see what happens.

Even on my home's normally slow-as-snails WiFi, the Forum's running more robustly than it used to...nice upgrade, Steve!!!

 

Unfortunately twice the memory does not equate to twice the storage.

Thanks to everyone handling the the technical side. Also, thanks to everyone who posts. I have learned quite a lot from the forums, and now I feel like I missed something if I do not check the forums daily. Thanks to the forum I have stepped up my economic support of the recording industry (and music reproduction equipment industry as well ).

 

Site has really opened up, much better soundstage and transient response. Also, when someone bumps their Classifieds post with price reductions, I can really feel the reduction now. It's like a veil has been lifted.









Seriously, though, many thanks for keeping the site humming. It's an invaluable resource.

No change here so far.

Then again - regardless of what hardware you have in the background - unless the latency and bandwidth to the site is drastically improved - I would not expect any changes I could actually "feel".
