I have "Dance, Dance, Dance" in the form of the original Buddah 45 which came out about a week or so before Atlantic's. (Buddah even put out their own 12" single issue of it.) As for "Supernature," a version was used on a famous Benny Hill Show parody of the dance troupe that appeared on The Kenny Everett Video Show:

Viz "More Than a Woman," I'll take the Bee Gees' any day of the week over Tavares'. Sorry, folks . . .

The first song I can remember hearing, I was three years old when it came out. My mum had the cassette, and I insisted the song be played over and over. I still love it. There is and will be plenty of Punk, Funk, Hard Rock, Reggae, Country, Soul, etc., etc., that I really like in these polls (what a great year), but this is a special song because it really started my interest in music and for me it is the winner.

"San Francisco" was the first Village People song, I had heard.

Dance With Me by Peter Brown is such a classic tune! The 12" mix is even better. I voted for that and the Tavares version of More Than a Woman which I think is miles better than the Bee Gees take (and I love the Bee Gees!).

I'm lookin' for a towel to throw in on this one...not familiar with ANY of those songs. I must have been absorbed with 70s "corporate" rock at the time (Styx, Boston, Kansas, etc...)

This is like trying to a favorite piece of garbage from a dumpster. I abstain.

I honestly don't mean that as a thread crap, I appreciate the work you put into these things. :righton:
I just really don't like any of these songs.

Disco... cringe! But, since I was 12 in 1977 some of these songs did make an indelible stamp:
    Shame
    San Francisco
    Dance With Me
    Dance, Dance, Dance
More Than A Woman (Bee Gees)
I Feel Love (I believe Brian Eno is credited as saying something along the lines of being stunned the first time he heard that, declaring "music has now changed.")

Chic - not my favourite of theirs, but still good
Donna Summer - an absolutely brilliant record, and stunning vocal
Grace Jones - everything she did in that period on Island is just great
Boney M - hilarious, love it. But Rasputin is better 'Oh those Russians!'

We are about the same age. I was never a huge disco fan but my opinion has changed some over the years. I view it more favorably now. "Shame" is infectious. Love the Isley Brothers song and a couple of the Space Disco tracks. Always liked Grace Jones too.

As for "I Feel Love"? Way ahead of it's time and one of my favorite songs of the 70s.

And I'm a huge Eno fan. We will hear from him soon.
