The Sundazed label, like Elektra from the '50s through the '70s, is a seal of quality. If it's on Sundazed, you know it's good.
wow, so many great releases over the years. I'd have to say my No. 1 fave is the Guess Who comp of the pre-69 recordings. Also, I love the Garage Beat '66 seven volume series, even though some songs had been previously comped, this is the best way to own them.
also recently re-released some out of print Cd titles: http://www.sundazed.com/shop/index.php?cPath=187
I just visited the Sundazed site - it's been a while. Bob has a couple of tracks streaming off of the newly (US) released The See See comp - Days, Nights & The Late Morning Lights. Great retro-psych-pop. Do y'self a favor and check it out. Me? My order's already in.
I was just blown away by the Captain Beefheart Safe As Milk mono reissue by Sundazed. The vinyl is flat, quiet, and sounds fantastic. And the packaging is beautiful. How cool to include the original Safe As Milk sticker? All for under $20. This is how all reissues should be done...
I wonder what happened/is happening with the purported Byrds "Notorious Byrd Brothers" set (similar in intent to the wonderful "Another Dimension"), was that apocryphal or is it in the works still?.
Yes, i would like to know about "Notorious Byrd Brothers" set too! Does Columbia/Sony hold this stuff for future deluxe editions or... ? Reissue of "You Movin' / Boston" single would be really great too! Andrew Sandoval played some of this stuff on "Come to the sunshine" podcast: - Change Is Now (Isolated Vocals) - Natural Harmony (Backing track) - Get To You (Backing track) - Goin' Back (Backing track)
The 1999 Chesterfield Kings release Where the Action Is on Sundazed had been near the top of my want list for a while, and I finally bought a copy a few months ago. I love it, even if it is nuevo garage and not 60s vintage.
yes . . . I bought this on the clearance rack at Bull Moose for $4 right after I got my turntable . . . I had the MP3s already, but the vinyl sounds brilliant!

My only thing with Sundazed is I wish it was easier to find out which lps are cut from analog masters. It seems some people assume all of them are and I don't think that is the case. I have quite a few Sundazed lps and regardless, they sound great (for the most part) but I'm not sure if any of them are AAA. Also, it's became obvious that the Kevin Gray cuts sound better than what used to come out of there. Actually, the KG cuts to me sound AAA but I think that is a reflection of his mastering chain and abilities with the lathe. In the end, all that mattes is the sound, I just like information and being informed.
A thoroughly wonderful label. So many great records brought back to vinyl with obvious love and affection. Sundazed has done so much for the vinyl-loving community!
I have about 10 so far, and every single one I have bought has been awesome 1) First five Byrds albums in mono 2) Dylan mono releases - Although these were replaced for me with the columbia mono box, the sundazed ones I heard were quite good (Freewheelin and BIABH) 3) Mike Bloomfield - I'm Cutting Out 4) Bloomfield / Al Cooper / Stills - Super Session 5) John Mayall with Eric Clapton - Blues Breakers (mono) 6) Simon and Garfunkel - Parsley Saige Rosemary and Thyme

I have quite a few CD’s and LP’s on Sundazed and am always happy to support the label. I’ve been enjoying their reissue of the MONO mix of Canned Heat’s debut album recently. Looking back, I think I was most excited by their reissues of Lee Dorsey’s Amy Label recordings. The Amy/Bell imprint issued two albums when Lee was “hitting” with Ride Your Pony and Workin’ In A Coal Mine. In the years that followed there were more than a dozen Allen Toussaint-produced singles on the label, but no album. The Sundazed CD’s compiled the original albums with all the non-LP singles and B-sides. I had all but a couple of the tracks on vinyl, but it still felt like a godsend.
me fave body & soul; cause of it's "Garage/Psych/Obscure" theme: "Psychedelic Microdots Vols. 1 & 2" especially for it's "Texas*" connection [home of "Peyote Psych" (TM)] And the 'Raiders' re-releases are dear-too-my-heart. EDitEDbyED: Jimi's 2nd 7" single has been recently re-issuED!
Great label with tons of great pressings. I just wish they came with download codes for on-the-go listening.
Yeah, I agree. I suspect that their licensing deals are more affordable as vinyl-only, rather than vinyl + digital, but I'm only guessing. Maybe it's a philosophical thing.
